The 2015 Book Blogger Love-A-Thon is hosted by Alexa from
Alexa Loves Books, and it's all about spreading positivity in the book blogging world. There are also a few challenges involved in the challenge. This challenge, the "High Five" challenge is all about my current high fives - five things that are making me happy.
Book:
Even though I'm not reading it now, I'm very much looking forward to reading
Fairest by Marissa Meyer. I still have a few early March ARCs to read before I get to it, but knowing that it's there and waiting for me is pretty awesome.
Genre:
I'm pretty sure you all know this by now, but I'm very content with reading contemporary right now. The cute reads warm my heart during this frozen winter.
Author:
Sarah Ockler is an author that makes me happy right now. I have an ARC of
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids that I'll be starting soon, and I also just bought
#scandal. I can't wait to read both of them because it's been a while since I read one of her books, and let's be honest... I adore Sarah.
Blogger:
Oh man! I have so many favorite bloggers. Just know that if I reach out to you through comments, Twitter, Goodreads, or Facebook, you're among them!
Bookish Merchandise:
I have a few trinkets that relate to some of my favorite books that make me happy. My charm bracelet has a Deathly Hallows symbol, and I also have an old wizard on it who reminds me of Dumbledore. I also have a mockingjay pin that I keep with my
Hunger Games books.
OMG #Scandal was so good. I wrote a review and all and said it was by far my favorite contemporary read! That's the only book I've read my Sarah Ockler before. I need some book merchandise Lol.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has it right now, but if she doesn't finish by the time I want to read it, it's mine. Sarah is one of my favorites. Twenty Boy Summer is my favorite book by her, and I highly recommend it.
DeleteThis is such a fun post. I have a mockingjay pun on my academic gown and it sometimes helps connect with other readers.
ReplyDeleteI bet it does. When I was student teaching, a bunch of my kids wore them to school, and it really helped me break the ice and get to know them.
DeleteI'm also looking forward to reading Fairest by Marissa Meyer! I picked up the Lunar Chronicles and Fairest but I haven't started reading it just yet. Can't wait to see what you think about Fairest! :D
ReplyDeleteTalina @ Sassy & Dangerous
I will definitely be reviewing it on here. I'm hoping to read it as soon as I finish up these two ARCs for next week.
DeleteI'm so excited to read Fairest as well! I really want a mockingjay pin :D Nice post!
ReplyDelete~Cari @My Addiction:Books
It looks so good!
DeleteI don't even remember where I found my mockingjay pin, but I know it wasn't very expensive.
Fairest was fun! It's interesting to see Levana's story, and the book itself is gorgeous. I also really need to read more Sarah Ockler books!
ReplyDeleteOMG. I looked inside and saw that gorgeous artwork! I cannot wait to start it and learn more about Levana.
DeleteYAY Sarah Ockler! I became an instant fangirl after TBoBH! I debated requesting Summer of Chasing Mermaids, but decided I probably had enough books as it was. Haha. You'll have to tell me what you think! <3 YAY contemporaries! They make me really happy too. I love reading them at the start of summer vacation. :) And that deathly hallows charm sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely let you know what I think of The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. Contemporaries are so much fun to read. I just love them so much, especially during summer. I usually read about twenty to thirty of them in the summer.
