Friday Finds is a weekly event hosted by Should Be Reading. Each Friday (or sporadically as I'm doing),  you write a new post about all the books that you've discovered during the week. They can be a new book that you discovered through a recommendation or a book that you ordered and are now ready to devour. It's all up to you and what you've found that you want to read.

I won't lie to you. I ordered a bunch of books recently, so I have quite a few books that I could share with you. Instead, I'm going to focus on a book giveaway that I won because the book wasn't really on my radar, even though I had it on my Goodreads TBR shelf.

I recently started following Chick Lit Chickadees, and I saw that they were doing a giveaway for their one month anniversary. I love entering to win things. I really do, so I entered thinking that it would be cool to win. Well... I won their mystery book giveaway. I wouldn't know what the prize was until it got to my house and I could unwrap it. Can you imagine how much wondering I did? Let me tell you... it was a lot.

The book I won is called Midnight Thief (Midnight Thief #1) by Livia Blackburne. I'm excited to read it, although it might be some time before I get around to it. It seems interesting, and I'm always willing to give fantasy a chance. I'll review it here to let everyone know what I think of it.

Friday Finds is a weekly event hosted by Should Be Reading. Each Friday, you write a new post about all the books that you've discovered during the week.

The rules are simple. All you have to do is share any books that you've discovered during the week that you have added to your TBR shelf. You could have gone into a book store and seen something new. You could have found an older book that you had never heard of. You could have even seen a cover reveal and found out that it's a book you want to read. They don't have to be books that you've purchased or borrowed from a friend or a public library. They just have to be books that you found out about and now want to read.

It's my first time participating in Friday Finds, so I am going to keep it simple and only post one book this week. Also, I have a lot of books on their way that have already been on my TBR shelf.

And the book is...

The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler

I first read Sarah Ockler a few years ago. Then my sister started asking me to buy more of her books for her, and we've been sharing them since. I really like the way Ockler writes, and I love her stories.

When I found out that she was working on a "Little Mermaid" retelling, I was excited! I love retellings, and I love the many versions of the fairy tale that have come to be. And obviously, I was thrilled to learn that she was going back to the ocean. It makes for a perfect summer read.

The book won't be released until next summer, but I'll wait for it as long as I have to. This is just one of those books that I know I'm going to love, so I'll probably pre-order it or head to a store on release day.
