I cannot believe that October is over! It's really kind of sad. I didn't even really get to do any fall things like pumpkin or apple picking, but I did get to judge my town's Halloween parade this year! I also had a pretty good reading month, and we'll get to all of that in just a minute.

Waiting on Wednesday (47)
Waiting on Wednesday is a bookish meme created and hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine.
Each week, bloggers shine the spotlight on upcoming book titles that they are waiting on. This is one of my favorite memes, and you've probably noticed it as a frequent feature on my blog.
It's pretty simple to participate in Waiting on Wednesday:
- Create your own Waiting on Wednesday post that features an upcoming title (or titles) - I usually only go with one book a week because seeing all the titles can be a bit overwhelming for me.
- Be sure to credit Jill somewhere in your post (see how I credited her above?)
- Link up to the Linky on Jill's blog so that others can see your post.

Wicked Reads: The Appearance of Annie Van Sinderen
Hey, everyone! Today is a pretty cool day on The Hardcover Lover. If you didn't know, Penguin Teen has an awesome Halloween-themed promotion going on this week, and I'm very glad that I'm able to participate in Wicked Reads.
So what exactly is Wicked Reads? In a nutshell, Wicked Reads is fun way to talk about all of those creepy books that bookworms tend to read in October. There are going to be book reviews all across the blogosphere this week, and many bloggers are sharing some of their favorite Halloween things with their readers.
But that's not all! There is even a huge giveaway on Twitter! If you're brave enough, feel free to Tweet your #TwitterGhostStory along with #Sweepstakes to be entered to win a pile of Wicked Reads from Penguin Teen.

It's Time to Listen to Carry On!
Title: Carry On
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Audiobook Read by Euan Morton
Publisher: Macmillan Audio
Publication Date: October 6, 2015
Publication Date: October 6, 2015
11 CDs | 13.5 hours | $39.99
#1 New York Times bestselling author Rainbow Rowell writes books about misfits and nerds, or people who feel like misfits and nerds, and how find their way through life -- cracking each other up and falling in love.
Making her highly-anticipated return to young adult fiction, Rainbow continues to break boundaries with CARRY ON, an epic fantasy following the triumphs and heartaches of Simon and Baz from her beloved bestseller Fangirl.
Simon Snow just wants to relax and savor his last year at the Watford School of Magicks, but no one will let him. His girlfriend broke up with him, his best friend is a pest, and his mentor keeps trying to hide him away in the mountains where maybe he'll be safe. Simon can't even enjoy the fact that his roommate and longtime nemesis is missing, because he can't stop worrying about the evil git. Plus there are ghosts. And vampires. And actual evil things trying to shut Simon down. When you're the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you never get to relax and savor anything.
CARRY ON is a ghost story, a love story, a mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you'd expect from a Rainbow Rowell story -- but far, far more monsters.

Throwback Thursday: Lessons from a Past Erin (8)
Hello, everyone! As some of you may know, I unveiled a new blog feature awhile ago, and so far, people have been enjoying it. Sadly, I think we're coming to a close on these Throwback Thursday posts, so savor them while they last! They won't be around for much longer.
It's called Throwback Thursday: Lessons from a Past Erin. In these
posts, I explore my notes from my undergrad YA class, and I share them
with you. I've been organizing them as mini-lessons, so sometimes how
they are structured differs. But at the end of all of them, I include a
discussion post so that everyone can comment and discuss the week's
lesson.
