Stacking the Shelves (4)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly book meme created and hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you've added to your shelves throughout the week. The books you're adding to your shelves can be either physical or digital.

Okay... it really does seem like it's been forever since I've done a Stacking the Shelves post, but that's because I've been trying really hard not to buy any more books until I've read a few that were on my TBR list. Well... I read a few, but my book lust got the best of me, and I've purchased some books. I also received some free e-books since my last Stacking the Shelves post.

  • My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins - If you've been keeping up with my blog, you'll know that I received an ARC of this in September. I couldn't resist it when I saw it in Target the other day.
  • Atlantia by Allie Condie - Many of you might remember my not so favorable review of the Matched series, but I read the preview for Atlantia and I really enjoyed it. It left me wanting more, so I bought the first copy that I saw.

  • Miss Mabel's School for Girls and Antebellum Awakening by Katie Cross - I won these two books from the same Goodreads giveaway. They are the first two books in The Network series.
  • Zodiac by Romina Russell - I also won an ARC of this book on Goodreads, and from what I can tell, there are quite a few people who were jealous. Let me tell you... it's good so far.
  • Channel '63 (The Age of Amy #3) - I also won this book on Goodreads. It's part of a series, but I haven't read the first two books. It does seem like it can be read as a standalone book.

  • I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by Taliban by Malala Yousafzai
  • Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling
  • Shatter Me by

    1. I really hope you enjoy My True Love Gave to Me. It's so cute. lol

I'd been eying them for a while at a used bookstore, but I was able to get all five iBooks for free, so I downloaded them. Now I just need to get an iPad so I can read them because I hate lugging my laptop places just to read.

    1. It was so so so good! I literally adored so many of the stories. There were a few duds, and one complete oddball, but for the most part, it was absolutely great.

It was also my first experience with quite a few of the authors in the anthology, so I'm excited to read some more of their work in the future.

  3. I'm on a book ban, so I have nothing new on my shelves xD It's not a nice feeling.
I've been on book bans several times, but I've never been able to keep it for more than a couple of days, but this time I'm doing it - mostly because, you know, I figured it was more important to be able to pay rent. (Grown up life sucks! - but it's also awesome xD)

    1. I read quite a few, and I hadn't bought a book since August, so I figured it would be okay. And the cost wasn't too bad. It's not like my normal thing of spending $50 at Half Price Books every other day. lol

Luckily all the ebooks were free, so it really was a cost effective book haul. lol

    1. Yes, Fari! You totally need to read My True Love Gave to Me, but probably when you get in the Christmas spirit. lol Me... I'm already there.

I wish I would have stopped after Matched, but I was told that it got better, so I read Crossed. Then I just felt like I had to finish it.

Yeah... I'm not sure how I feel about Shatter Me. I'm undecided about whether or not I'll read it. I'll eventually get to the Percy Jackson books. I still kind of want to get physical copies of them though. :)
