It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (15)

"It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" is a weekly meme brought to you by BookJourney. Each Monday, you get to share book or books you're currently reading and what you plan on reading during the rest of the week with the rest of the book blogosphere and readers.

A while ago, I discovered another great outlet to share your It's Monday posts. Readers of YA and educators can also share their links on the link up tool on Teach Mentor Texts. I highly recommend this if you are a teacher or a librarian because I've discovered so many great books through the bloggers on that list.

Once again, it's been a while since my last It's Monday post, and I do apologize. I promise you that I'm reading, but I just sometimes don't plan out everything that I'm going to read during the week. So... I think this will be a once-in-a-while feature for me that will feature some of the books that I'll be reading throughout the month.

What I'm Planning to Read this Month:

  • Hit by Delilah S. Dawson - This is an ARC that Simon & Schuster sent me. I was a little scared to start it because it's not really my thing and it was unsolicited, but I'm enjoying it so far. I'll be posting a review on April 7, so be sure to stop by then if you're interested in seeing what I have to say about this book.
  • Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson - This one was on my wish list for a while, and then I found it when I was selling books at Half Price Books. I'm hoping to squeeze it in before I have to read some more ARCs.
  • Narvla's Celtic New Year by

It's been a while since my last It's Monday post, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't reading. I've actually been doing a lot of it! I've already got a few reviews scheduled to post later this month, so make sure you're watching for them because a few of them are for upcoming titles that you won't want to miss.

What I'm Reading and Planning to Read This Week

  •  Staying Strong by Demi Lovato - Yup! Still reading it. I'll be reading a page a day this year.
  • The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu- I'm reading this for a guest review on Of Spectacles & Books. So far, I'm only a few pages in, but it's really intriguing so far, and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds.
  • Twisted Fate by Norah Olson - A blogging friend of mine sent me this book, and so far, it's strange but interesting. I put it on the back burner the other day to get some February ARCs read, but I'm hoping to finish it soon.
  • Biggie by Derek E. Sullivan - I'll be reading this upcoming title for a blog tour. I'm hoping to start it this week or this weekend.
So those are the books that I'm reading and planning to read this week. I'd love to know if you've read or are planning to read any of them, so don't be shy. Feel free to leave a comment, and you can definitely leave any links to your It's Monday posts.

So since last week, I finished Zac & Mia by A.J. Betts. If you missed my review, you can read it here. Now I'm working on another ARC, and I plan on starting one or two more ARCs this week. I'm also re-reading a book with a student that I tutor.

What I'm Reading and Planning to Read this Week:

  • When Reason Breaks by Cindy L. Rodriguez - It's pretty good so far. If you are a fan of Emily Dickinson and contemporary YA, pick this one up in February. I'll have a review posted in February.
  • Staying Strong by Demi Lovato - I'm still reading just one page a day of this book. I like how Demi uses quotes by famous authors and celebrities but also gives her own advice to readers.
  • Insurgent by Veronica Roth - I'm re-reading this one with my student that I tutor.
  • Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton - I was lucky enough to be one of the first five hundred people to get this on NetGalley. I really hope it's good because I am itching to read a good fantasy. I will post a review for it close to the publication date.
  • Since You've Been Gone by Mary Jennifer Payne - This is another NetGalley ARC. It comes out in mid February so look out for a review.
So what are you reading this week? Feel free to let me know in the comments or leave a link to check out your own post.

Happy reading!

It's been quite a while since my last It's Monday post. I'm sorry about that. I kind of went blog crazy in December. Things might look a little crazy this week, but trust me on this one... I am going to read all of these books.

Books I'm Currently Reading:

  • Zac & Mia by A.J. Betts - I got this one from NetGalley a long time ago, and now that I have a Kindle, I can finally read it without hurting my eyes! I'll have a review for it posted as soon as I'm done reading it.
  • Crossing the Ice by Jennifer Comeaux - I'm listening to this one for an upcoming blog tour post, so look out for a review.
  • Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year by Demi Lovato - I figured that the new year is the perfect time to start this book. I'll be reading a page a day to coincide with her 365 pages of mantras and advice. Look out for a review next year!
  • Lauren Conrad: Beauty - I bought this during the Book Outlet Black Friday Sale, and I've been reading a chapter or two every few nights. I'm not sure if I'll review it on my blog, but I'll probably post a short review on Goodreads.
So that's what I'm reading and listening to this week. As always, feel free to let me know what you think or what you're reading in the comments, and if you want me to check out your It's Monday post, let me know!

Now I know in my last few "It's Monday" posts, I've planned on reading quite a few books, but I am having such a hard time getting through one that I told you about a while ago. It's depressing, actually. It never takes me this long to read a book. So... I'm still reading it, but I really hope to finish it today because I've got an ARC on it's way!

What I'm Reading This Week:

Title: Atlantia
Author: Ally Condie
Synopsis:
Can you hear Atlantia breathing?

For as long as she can remember, Rio has dreamt of the sand and sky Above—of life beyond her underwater city of Atlantia. But in a single moment, all her plans for the future are thwarted when her twin sister, Bay, makes an unexpected decision, stranding Rio Below. Alone, ripped away from the last person who knew Rio’s true self—and the powerful siren voice she has long hidden—she has nothing left to lose.

Guided by a dangerous and unlikely mentor, Rio formulates a plan that leads to increasingly treacherous questions about her mother’s death, her own destiny, and the complex system constructed to govern the divide between land and sea. Her life and her city depend on Rio to listen to the voices of the past and to speak long-hidden truths.

Title: Positively Beautiful
Author: Wendy Mills
Synopsis:
16-year-old Erin is a smart if slightly dorky teenager, her life taken up with her best friend Trina, her major crush on smoky-eyed, unattainable Michael, and fending off Faith, the vision of perfection who’s somehow always had the knife in for Erin. Her dad, a pilot, died when she was very young, but Erin and her mom are just fine on their own.

Then everything changes forever one day after school when Erin’s mom announces she has breast cancer. And there’s even worse news to come. Horrified, Erin discovers that her grandmother’s death from cancer is almost certainly linked, the common denominator a rare gene mutation that makes cancer almost inevitable. And if two generations of women in the family had this mutation, what does that mean for Erin? The chances she’s inherited it are frighteningly high. Would it be better to know now and have major preemptive surgery or spend as much life as she has left in blissful ignorance?

As Erin grapples with her terrible dilemma, her life starts to spiral downwards, alleviated only by the flying lessons she starts taking with grumpy Stew and his little yellow plane, Tweetie Bird. Up in the sky, following in her dad’s footsteps, Erin finds freedom chasing the horizon. Down on the ground it’s a different story, and facing betrayal from Trina, humiliation from Faith, and a world of disappointment with Michael, Erin knows she must discover the truth about herself. Sure enough, she’s positive for the gene that’s slowly killing her mom.

Suddenly, Erin’s life has turned into a nightmare, and the only person she can truly talk to is a girl called Ashley who she meets online. But when, in a moment of madness, Erin flies away with Tweetie Pie to find her new friend, she finds herself on a journey that will take her through not only shock and despair - but ultimately to a new understanding of the true meaning of beauty, meaning, and love.

So that's what I'm reading this week. I'd like to thank On the Same Page ARC tours for the opportunity to read Positively Beautiful.

What are you reading this week? Feel free to let me know in the comments, and as always, feel free to leave a link to your "It's Monday" post so I can check them out.

Last week, I was reading Zodiac by Romina Russell, and I planned to read Flawless by Sara Shepard. I didn't start the second Pretty Little Liars book because I forgot all about wanting to read another book.

Unfortunately, I got extremely sick over the weekend, and took a trip to the emergency room, so I don't know how much reading I'll actually get done this week.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading (9)

8 comments :
I know I've said it before, but I really do like Mondays. There's something nice about being able to start over, and each week, Monday brings that.

Here in the book blogging world, Mondays are all about sharing the books that you're reading. This meme, It's Monday! What Are You Reading is brought to you by BookJourney. I used to try to participate every week, but I felt like things were getting repetitive, especially when things got in the way and I hadn't finished my book(s) from the previous week. You've probably noticed that my posts are a little more sporadic now, but I still love sharing!

I'll probably be able to get a lot more reading done this week than I have in the past few weeks because of Election Day. That might sound crazy, right? Well my dad is involved in politics, and because of that, he is supposed to stand at the polls all day and pass out "literature." He works, so it usually gets put on me. A lot of people vote during the morning and evening rush hours, so I get to sit outside and read when no one is there.

What Am I Reading This Week?

Title: Zodiac
Author: Romina Russell
Synopsis:
At the dawn of time, there were 13 Houses in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now only 12 remain....

This first book off an epic sci-fi-meets-high-fantasy series takes place in a galaxy inspired by the twelve astrological signs. ZODIAC is rendered with a stunning complexity that both transports readers to a fascinating new world and holds up a mirror to reflect how we can better know each other in our own.

Title: Flawless (Pretty Little Liars #2)
Author: Sara Shepard
Synopsis:
In the exclusive town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, where the sweetest smiles hide the darkest secrets, four pretty little liars--Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna--have been very bad girls. . . .

Spencer stole her sister's boyfriend. Aria is brokenhearted over her English teacher. Emily likes her new friend Maya . . . as much more than a friend. And Hanna's obsession with looking flawless is literally making her sick. But the most horrible secret of all is something so scandalous it could destroy their perfect little lives.

And someone named "A" is threatening to do just that.

At first they thought A was Alison, their friend who vanished three years ago . . . but then Alison turned up dead. So could A be Melissa, Spencer's ultracompetitive sister? Or Maya, who wants Emily all to herself? What about Toby, the mysterious guy who left town right after Alison went missing?
One thing's for certain: A's got the dirt to bury them all alive, and with every crumpled note, wicked IM, and vindictive text message A sends, the girls get a little closer to losing it all.

It's Monday! What are You Reading? (8)

13 comments :
It's Monday, so that means it's time for another "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" This weekly meme is hosted by BookJourney, and although I don't participate weekly, I try to. Sometimes things just get in the way or I find that I'm still reading the same book as I was the week before because I've been so busy.

If you keep up with my blog regularly, you might know that I planned to read three books last week. Unfortunately, I only got to read one, but I did start the second one! That's progress, right? This week's edition might be a bit repetitive, but I am going to try to add another book to it because I really, really want to read it. I just hope I can get around to reading all three, but that might be a bit difficult because I adopted two kittens on Thursday.

Okay... so here's what's on tap for this week:

The Remedy by Susan Srikant

You might have noticed that this book is now being featured in my "Currently Reading" box on my side bar. I started it a few days ago, and I'm really hoping to finish it today. Again, this book was sent to me by Susan Srikant in exchange for an honest review. I read and reviewed her book, The Disappearance of Lars Wellingsworth, and it was quite enjoyable. I'm looking forward to this one, and one other book by her.

Synopsis:
Joss Hall's little sister, Bibi, is dying, and it's all Joss's fault. Everyone agrees the situation is hopeless, but there is no way Joss is going to sit around and do nothing. She and her friends, Domino and Anton, decide to hike through the dark and dangerous forests of Burkett Mountain in search of a mythical creature with healing powers called a jarrlock, hoping to find a way to help Bibi before it's too late.

This entertaining adventure story takes readers on a quest filled with curious creatures and magical medicine.

Beau, Lee, The Bomb and Me by Mary McKinley

While I was searching through the YA titles on NetGalley, I found this one. I was immediately attracted to the cute font on the cover. I also was a fan of the title, so I read up on it, and requested it. I really liked the synopsis, especially because I was bullied a lot in high school, so I'm hoping that it's just as amazing as it seems... well... except for the whole Twilight reference, but I'm willing to forgive Mary for that one because I wanted to go to Forks before Twilight was even a thing.

Synopsis:
When Beau transferred to our school. I thought: "Good; fresh meat." Because I knew he would be tormented the entire time he was at Baboon High. Like I am. All day. . .every day. Growing up is a trip. . .

In high school, there are few worse crimes than being smart or fat. Lucky me, I'm both. But when Beau Gales blows in to town, it takes about two minutes for the jackasses at our Seattle school to figure out he's gay, and that makes him an even bigger target. Have you ever heard the saying: 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'? There's something to that.

When the bullying gets violent and Beau decides to run away to San Francisco to ask his Uncle Frankie for advice, we all go. Beau, me, Leonie (designated class slut), and a scruffy rescue dog called The Bomb--a tribe of misfits crammed into my mom's minivan. Throw in a detour to the
Twilight town of Forks, armed robbery, cool record shops, confessions, breakups and makeups, and you have the kind of journey that can change the way you look at the whole world--and yourself.

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

So after I finish reading the review books, I'd like to try to read something for myself before keeping up with some of the other review titles I have to read. I read The 5th Wave this summer, so I'm really excited to see what happens next, especially because this book is sitting on my shelf!

Synopsis:
How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

What are you reading (or planning to read) this week? Feel free to tell me in the comments. You can also leave a link to your post so I can check it out. Who knows? Maybe you'll just help me add yet another book to my never-ending TBR list!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (7)

20 comments :
Well, hello there! It seems like it's been forever since I wrote my last "It's Monday" post, but I promise that it's not because I forgot; it's because I was in the middle of two review copies, Damsel Distressed and My True Love Gave to Me, and I only just finished the second one last night.

But finishing them means that it's time to start some new books, and although I do have some more ARCs and review copies to read, I decided to take a little time to myself this week and read a book for pleasure while still working on those review copies.

In case you're new to "It's Monday," I'll give you some details.
  • The weekly meme is hosted by BookJourney
  • You get to share what you're reading and what you plan on reading this week with your readers
  • After you post, visit BookJourney and leave your link on the link-up
  • Feel free to peruse the other posts - I always do.
Without further ado, I give you my reads for the week:

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

Yes! I am finally getting to it after buying it oh so long ago. Unfortunately, I know one of the big events in the book because people on Goodreads don't know how to hide their spoilers. I almost didn't want to read it after I found out, but I had already purchased the book. So if you don't hide them, shame on you.

Synopsis:
Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?

Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.

Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.

The Remedy by Susan Srikant

This book was sent to me by Susan Srikant in exchange for an honest review. I already read and reviewed one of her other books, and it was quite enjoyable. I'm very much looking forward to sitting down for a few hours with this middle grade novel.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (6)

18 comments :
Happy Monday to all of you wonderful people out there!

It's time for another edition of "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" In case you can't tell, this might be one of my favorite memes. It's hosted by BookJourney. Each Monday, we share what we are currently reading and what we plan on reading during the week.

Right now, I am waiting on a book to come in the mail for an ARC Tour. This is my first time participating in an ARC Tour, and I'm pretty excited. I think it will be a great way to bring more readers to my blog.

I'm hoping that the copy of Damsel Distressed gets here by tomorrow so I can start reading it and mail it off to the next person in line for the book.

Synopsis:
Hot girls get the fairy tales. No one cares about the stepsisters' story. Those girls don't get a sweet little ending; they get a lifetime of longing

Imogen Keegen has never had a happily ever after–in fact, she doesn’t think they are possible. Ever since her mother’s death seven years ago, Imogen has pulled herself in and out of therapy, struggled with an “emotionally disturbed” special ed. label, and loathed her perma-plus-sized status.

When Imogen’s new stepsister, the evil and gorgeous Ella Cinder, moves in down the hall, Imogen begins losing grip on the pieces she’s been trying to hold together. The only things that gave her solace–the theatre, cheese fries, and her best friend, Grant–aren’t enough to save her from her pain this time.

While Imogen is enjoying her moment in the spotlight after the high school musical, the journal pages containing her darkest thoughts get put on display. Now, Imogen must resign herself to be crushed under the ever-increasing weight of her pain, or finally accept the starring role in her own life story.

And maybe even find herself a happily ever after.

I'm also reading an ARC of My True Love Gave to Me, which is a book with twelve short stories about the holiday season. I was ecstatic when I found out that I was given access to this title because it was one of the top books on my request list. It seems like this book is going to be one of the top books of the holiday season.

Stephanie Perkins is the editor of the book. Some of the authors included in the book are Stephanie Perkins, Rainbow Rowell, Jenny Han, and Gayle Forman. There are also some authors included who I've never read before, so I'm excited to discover their writing.
And just look at that cover! I love it. I can't wait until it's released because I will definitely have a copy of this book on my shelves.

Synopsis:

If you love holiday stories, holiday movies, made-for-TV-holiday specials, holiday episodes of your favorite sitcoms and, especially, if you love holiday anthologies, you’re going to fall in love with MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME: TWELVE HOLIDAY STORIES by twelve bestselling young adult writers, edited by international bestselling author Stephanie Perkins.

So far, those are my reading plans for the week. I'll probably start a few more books, but I want to give these two some attention because they are time-sensitive. If I finish them, there will definitely be another book added to my plate.

What are you reading this week? As always, let me know in the comments or leave a link to your post.

Happy reading!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading (5)

6 comments :
Alright, everyone. It's Monday, so it's time for another edition of "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" The meme is hosted by BookJourney. Each Monday, you get to share the book or books that you are today and during the rest of the week.

It's a holiday in the United States, so it's been a pretty laid back day here, and I've read just a little bit so far, but I plan on doing more reading as the day turns into the evening.

Last week, I was reading Cress by Marissa Meyer, and I'm still working on reading it. It's a pretty long book, and I've just been so busy that I haven't had a chance to finish it. It'll actually be the longest book I've read this year until I finish another one that I'm reading. I really hope I'll finish it by the end of the night. Right now, I only have about two hundred pages to go. So it's very possible that I wind up finishing it before the day is over.

I'm also reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I have a hardcover of it, and it's just so big that I don't take it from place to place, so I read a little bit before bed. I've kind of been neglecting it for a few days, but I'm going to make it a point to keep reading it because I'm enjoying it.

This week, I'm also going to start reading Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. I just got it in the mail last week, and I've been dying to get my fingers between the pages. I need to know what happens with these two new characters. And I need to finish it so I can move on to Isla and the Happily Ever After.

So that's what I'm reading this week. What are you reading this week? As always, feel free to leave a comment, and I'll be sure to reply. And feel more than welcome to leave a link to your post for the week so I can drop by and check it out.

Happy reading!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (4)

6 comments :
Okay... so I know that not a lot of people enjoy Mondays, but this book meme makes Mondays just a little more bearable. I don't know about you, but Mondays, especially Mondays when I actually have to work, could use a little cheer. I'm babysitting three kids today, so a little reading while they are playing is just the trick to make the day go by a little bit faster.

For those of you who might start school today, Happy First Day of School! I personally always loved the first day of school, even though it meant less time to read what I wanted to read. Just remember that it's a new year, and everything is fresh again. There is so much to learn, so go out there, and try your best.

Everyone else, Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend.

Mondays are starting to become a favorite of mine because of It's Monday. It's a really cool book meme that's hosted by BookJourney. Each Monday, you get to share the book or books that you are reading during the week.

This Monday, I've decided to continue reading the books in The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. The Goodreads group I'm a mod for is reading the series starting next month, and because I'm in charge of the BOTM and Series Reads, I decided to get ahead on the reading so I could be better prepared when people start posting on the discussion boards. (If you're interested in joining us, the link to the group is on the left column of my blog.)

I finished Scarlet last night, so today, I'm going to read Cress. The cliffhanger ending in Scarlet was enough to make me want to jump in the pages again. I need to find out how Cinder is going to act on her promise to Iko and basically the rest of the world, even though they don't know about her yet.

I'm also excited to meet Cress. From what I've seen, Cress is based on Rapunzel, and I already think we've met her, just not officially. I can't wait to see how Cinder, Thorne, Scarlet, and Wolf work together to overthrow Levana. And obviously I need to know that Kai is not insane! I hope he figures out a way to save the planet without sacrificing himself. He seems like he is going to be such a great emperor.

I've also noticed that Cress has a very high average rating on Goodreads, so of course, I am excited to start it. If you've read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts, but maybe after I finish. I don't want to spoil myself because this is a series that no one has spoiled for me, and it's really made it an enjoyable series to read.

Synopsis:
In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (3)

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! You know what Monday means, right? Another installment of "It's Monday!"

"It's Monday! What are You Reading" is a weekly meme created and hosted by BookJourney. On Mondays, you get to share the book or books that you are reading with everyone who reads your blog.

Even though I promised that I would start Scarlet last Monday, I kind of didn't. I got too busy, but that's okay because I'm reading it this Monday.

Scarlet is the second book in The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. I've been a little busy, so I'm slowly chipping away at it, but I really like it so far. I don't know of I like it as much as I liked Cinder yet, but I'll have to wait and see.

I'm still really glad that the Goodreads group I'm a co-mod for is going to be reading this series starting in September. I've wanted to read them for a while, and now that I've started, I just want them all. Can Fairest and Winter be released like now?

If you haven't read these books, I really think you should. I enjoyed Cinder, and I think anyone who likes fantasy and science fiction would enjoy them.

Synopsis:
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison--even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (2)

It's Monday, everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I did. My birthday was yesterday, so I treated myself to some new books.

"It's Monday! What are You Reading" is a weekly meme created and hosted by BookJourney. On Monday, all you have to do is share some of the books that you are reading.

As of today, I am still reading The Epic of Clair by E.C. Hansen, but I am going to take a hiatus on it until the release date gets a little closer. It's not that I don't want to read it; I just want to make sure that it's fresh in my mind when I review it.

For those of you interested in The Epic of Clair, it is an epic poem. The book is about "an anxious girl who runs literary messages for witches in a post-carbon Twin cities."

It seemed really interesting, so I entered to win it on Goodreads, and I won. I'll be sure to post my review on here.

I'm also reading another ARC right now. This one is called Mister Teacher Person by J.M. Varner. It will be available for purchase later this month.

He sent me the link to it on Goodreads, so I will be posting a review of it as soon as I finish it. It is a part of Mr. Varner's Squirrel Hill High books. The book is about recent college graduate, Stacy King, who gets her dream job as a news reporter for Pittsburgh's KPGH. She did a profile piece on a student teacher during the previous school year, so she's back at Squirrel Hill High to
get more information on him, but he's missing! Being back at her alma mater brings back memories of herself, and she'll soon discover who she really is.

Fun fact: He and I were in some college classes together, and we recently reconnected on Goodreads when I found that he had added his books to my Pittsburgh Listopia.

I'm also going to start reading Scarlet by Marissa Meyer today. It is part a series read for the All About YA group I'm a moderator for on Goodreads. The link to the group is on the left hand side of this blog.

So what are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments or leave a link to your "It's Monday" post, and I'll check it out. Happy reading!

It's Monday! What are You Reading? (1)

Hey, everyone! It's Monday, and I hope you had an amazing weekend. Now it's time to write a post about what I'm reading this week.

This is my first time participating in "It's Monday! What are You Reading," a weekly meme created and hosted by BookJourney.

Right now, I'm a little past the middle of Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I'm not really sure how I feel about it right now. I am excited to finish it and read the author interview in the back. I'll be sure to post a review of the book once I finish it because it seems to be a book that everyone has read or plans to read.

I'm also reading an epic poem called The Epic of Clair by E.C. Hansen, which I won through the Goodreads giveaway program. The book is about "an anxious girl who runs literary messages for witches in a post-carbon Twin cities."

The book itself will not be released until October 7, 2014, but it appears that I have won a finished copy of the book. I'll be sure to post a review closer to the publication date.

I hope everyone has a good week. I can't wait to see what you're reading this week.
