Waiting on Wednesday (43)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly, bookish meme created and hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine. Each week, bloggers shine the spotlight on upcoming book titles that they are waiting on.

This is a meme that I post a lot because it's really fun to share what books I'm waiting on with my readers. I also love seeing what everyone else is looking forward to.

It's pretty simple to participate in Waiting on Wednesday:

• Create your own Waiting on Wednesday post that features an upcoming title (or titles) - I usually only go with one book a week because seeing all the titles can be a bit overwhelming for me.
• Be sure to credit Jill somewhere in your post (see how I credited her above?)
• Link up to the Linky on Jill's blog so that others can see your post

The week of September 27 - October 3 is Banned Books Week, and I'm celebrating my right to read these banned and challenged books on my blog with a mini-series of posts. Banned Books Week is one of my favorite events of the year because I love reading and learning about everyone's experiences with banned and challenged books.

This week, I'll be sharing a few of my favorite banned and challenged books with my readers. I hope you enjoy this mini-series about banned and challenged books. I also hope you learn a little bit more about me, the person behind the blog, and feel comfortable enough to start talking about banned books.

Two tales of holiday romance from USA Today bestselling author Lyla Payne, where lost love is found just in time, and Mr. Right could be right under your nose.

In "Mistletoe and Mr. Right," Jessica (not Jessie) takes a flying leap and follows her boyfriend home for the holidays for Christmas break, sure that Ireland will provide the perfect backdrop to the beginning of their happily ever after. But it turns out his family--and his gorgeous ex-girlfriend--don't feel the same way, and the only person making the trip worthwhile is the local farmhand, who has a way of showing up when Jessica needs him most . . . and least.

The holiday hijinks continue in "Sleigh Bells and Second Chances," when Jessica's best friend makes her own way across the pond! Christina Lake does not want to be away at Christmas, but it's her duty to babysit one of London's hottest bands at their last-minute concert on Christmas Eve . . . even though she had a fling with Cary, the band's lead singer, that never officially ended. Now forced to reconnect, Christina is starting to think that maybe London is exactly where she's supposed to be to get the perfect New Year's kiss--at least until she finds out that he's been lying the whole time. Can Cary find a way to prove himself before the clock strikes twelve? Or will the New Year ring in a new romance?

Lyla Payne wraps up two perfect holiday novellas, ties them with a ribbon of romance, and tops them with a light dusting of snow. Perfect to curl up with under the tree. Just add hot cocoa!

This week is Banned Books Week, and it's one of my favorite events of the year because I just love reading and learning about everyone's experiences with banned and challenged books. I also love reading all the articles and seeing the infographics that individuals and companies put together to create awareness. But mostly, I love celebrating the fact that I read banned books, and that I will never stop reading banned books because every book is a book worth reading.

This week, I'll be sharing a few of my favorite banned and challenged books with my readers. I hope you enjoy this little mini series, and getting to know a different side of me.

Throwback Thurdsay: Lessons from a Past Erin (5)

Throwback Thursday: Lessons from a Past Erin is a newer feature to The Hardcover Lover that allows me to share what I learned in my Young Adult Literature class. I've been setting the posts up like little mini-lessons, and so far, I'm having a blast exploring my past and seeing what you all have to say about what I learned in my YA Literature class.

I'm hoping that you're enjoying this new feature, but I must warn you that it's only here for a limited time! The class was only a fifteen week course, and eventually, I'm going to run out of notes! So grab a seat, and welcome to today's lesson!
