Hey, there, and welcome to the latest edition of my discussion post feature, Hardcover Lover Confessions! In these Hardcover Lover Confessions posts, I confess bookish habits, thoughts, or other random things with my readers, and then I encourage everyone to start discussing the issue with everyone else. It's a really fun way to get some bookish confessions off your chest, but it's also a great way to get to know other people in the blogosphere by commenting and interacting.
There really isn't an order as to when I post my Confessions - I kind of come up with them when an issue arises or a thought pops into my head. Sometimes, an issue just eats away at me until I finally decide to write a post. Ergo, there could be one a month or there could be a few a month. There could even be a month when I don't post a Hardcover Lovers Confessions at all. It just all depends on what's going on in the book community or how I feel.
Hardcover Lover Confession on Winter/Spring 2016 Book-to-Movie Adaptations That I Need to See
It's no secret that Hollywood loves to go to bestselling books for movies. Why? It works. Even if the movie adaptation is terrible, it gets people out of their houses and in movie theaters across the country and world.
There are going to be quite a few book-to-movie adaptations releasing in theaters during the next few monts, but I'm not sure that I want to see them all. Today, I'll be confessing what ones I want to see, and why.
January:
The 5th Wave - January 22
I read The 5th Wave right before I started blogging, and I was blown away by it! I didn't want to put it down, and I spent the entire weekend that I went camping with this book. I literally walked around the campground reading (like Belle in Beauty and the Beast).
Although I'm not too sure how I feel about Chloe Grace Moretz playing Cassie, I'm excited to see this action-packed novel come to life on the silver screen.
February:
The Choice - February 5
I've pretty much read every Nicholas Sparks book out there, but for some reason, I haven't read this one. I don't think I will just because they are all really repetitive, but I might go see this one just because I'm always up for a romantic movie.
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies - February 5
I haven't read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies yet, but it's been on my TBR for a while now. Also, one of my best friends, Blessie, told me that I have to read this book, and I trust her judgement. I'm hoping to read the parody novel before the movie comes out, but I'll definitely be reading it before I see this movie.
March:
Allegiant - March 18
I know a lot of people absolutely hate on the Divergent movies, but honestly, I like them for their differences. I'm a little curious to see how things will move forward, especially after all the changes to Insurgent, but this one is one of my most anticipated adaptations of the year.
So there you have it - The 5th Wave, The Choice, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Allegiant. These are the movies adaptations that I need to make sure I see in the first quarter of the year!
I'll probably be doing more posts like this during the rest of the year to cover some of the other great book-to-movie adaptations that are set to release later this year. Be sure to check back soon if you're interested.
