Sorry

Hey, all of you lovely Hardcover Lover readers!

I want to say sorry that I didn't post a Soundtrack Saturday yesterday. I found myself in the emergency room again with really bad ear pain. I tried to get a sick appointment at the doctor's but they weren't able to get me in until later this week. And of course the ER was busy. I was there for over four hours! It was insane.

The pain was so bad that I didn't even fall asleep on Friday night. I even had trouble sleeping last night.

It turns out that I have swimmer's ear. I used to get it all the time when I was little, and apparently it caused me so much pain that my mom even used to plug up my ears when I showered or took a bath.

So I'm dealing with this now. It still hurts, and I mean that it still hurts really bad. I've been trying to take over the counter pain medicine, but it's not really taking the pain away. Instead, I'm just taking some time to try to sleep. I'm so glad that I don't remember how much pain it caused me as a child or else I'd really be upset right now.

I promise to post a Soundtrack Saturday next weekend. I have a Christmas theme planned for the rest of them until Christmas.

Enjoy your day, and Happy Reading!

  1. I've never had an ear infection of any kind even when I was young, but I know Ashley from Nosegraze has been dealing with one too and it sounds awful. I never knew they were that bad! I hope you feel better soon.

    1. They are terrible! I've never been in this much pain before, and now my other ear is starting to hurt, so I now know that it's not swimmer's ear. :(

Thank you! I hope the medicine they gave me starts to work soon. I've done four doses so far and it still hurts. I'd never wish these on anyone.

  2. Don't worrry about it lol. I've seen a lot of bloggers recently posting these posts about how sorry they are. it's totally ok. We understand your schedules and that you have obligations outside of the blogosphere. And your blog is too pretty to look at, that even if you're gone I'd still come check around the old posts! Feel better <3

    1. They have got to be one of the more painful medical things to deal with. I'm hoping this is the last in my string of bad luck. I've been dealing with too many things lately. lol

      Thanks! :)

  4. Oh, Erin there is no need to apologise, really! I've never had an ear infection if I recall nicely but I know they are a pain. One of my best friend had quite several problems with them and he still deals with it. Hope you feel better over the days =)

    1. I know. I just feel bad. I like doing my Soundtrack Saturdays, but I keep missing them and I feel like people are missing the link ups.

Thank you. For once, my ear is actually feeling a little better, so I think the medicine is finally kicking in. I do know that I'll be wearing earplugs in the bath and shower from now on. :(

  5. I used to have so many ear infections as a kid, it's insane! I really hope you'll feel better soon, nothing worse than a constant pain you can't do anything about.

    1. I only got them in the summer or when I'd take showers. I don't remember the pain from them, but I never want to get another one again after this one.

      Thanks, Inge! :)

  6. Erin, don't apologize! ;) There have been a couple posts from bloggers talking how bloggers don't need to apologize. I know what you mean though, it is a feature for you. :)

I'm so sorry about your ear infection! That's terrible. I'm lucky that I don't get them, but my sister used to get them all the time as a baby and still gets them from time to time. I hope you get better soon..

    1. Thanks, Amber! I'll have to find some of these posts. :)

You are lucky. I only ever get swimmer's ear, but my sister would get inner ear infections all the time, and her eardrums actually burst. She had tubes put in and has been fine since. I know they talked about putting tubes in my ears when I was younger, but because it was just swimmer's ear, they never did. I was just so shocked because I didn't think you could get them as adults. lol

      And thank you again! :)

    1. Thank you, Rose!

I'm planning on a good one for next week. :) I need to just come up with a giant list of them, and schedule all the posts so I don't have to worry about them. lol

    2. That's me! This is the last week of school for me, and it's so stressful! I've finished so many books, and written reviews on paper, but I haven't had time to type them up yet! I will do so soon though. :D

    3. Oh man. I never kept a blog in high school, but I had to have one for a college class, and it was stressful. We had to make two posts a week, and with all of my other classes, I'd sometimes forget about it.

At least you have your thoughts somewhere so you can grab them and type them up when you aren't as busy. It's so hard to go back and revisit a book for a review once you've already moved on. I have notes for my reviews written in a notebook. I look at it as I type everything up on the computer, and I think it works well. lol

    4. Same with me, :D I agree, even if I finish a book at night, and write the review in the morning, I find it hard to recall some things.

  8. Just take care of yourself. The blogosphere will survive without a posting. Get well soon.

    1. Thank you, Rissi! It's starting to feel a little better. And I'm hoping that was my last trip to the ER for a while. I was just there a few weeks ago too. lol
