Stacking the Shelves (7)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews. The meme is normally posted on Saturdays, but it can be posted by other bloggers on other days of the week. I already have a Saturday meme, so I post my Stacking the Shelves posts whenever I get the chance (or whenever I buy books). My Stacking the Shelves posts are also sporadic because I try not to buy books until I've finished quite a few.

The meme is all about sharing the books you've added to your shelves throughout the week with your readers. The books you're adding to your shelves can be either physical books or digital books for your e-reader.

After my last book haul, I kind of promised myself not to buy any more books until I read at least half of what I own but haven't read. I kind of broke that promise.

In case you didn't know, I am a certified English teacher. I don't have a full-time teaching job yet, but I'm hoping to find one soon because I absolutely love teaching. Because of my background in education, I love reading books like these and seeing some of the hilarious things that students come up with when they have no idea what the answer is.

I already read a copy of F in Exams, but it was my sister's and I wanted a copy of my own for when I finally get my own classroom. I was lucky enough to find these three at TJ Maxx on clearance. I only need to get a few more to complete my collection, but I'm really looking for the English/ELA one.

So what did you recently add to your shelves this week? As always, feel free to tell me in the comments. Also, leave the links to your Stacking the Shelves posts so I can check them out!

  1. Wow you're doing a great job with holding yourself from buying books. I don't know if I could do that, and it makes me so sad that I can't. I don't know why I've never heard of these books because they sound great! And plus the titles are pretty hilarious. Thanks for visiting my STS :D

    1. I got the last of my last haul today. In the past few months, I think I've acquired about sixty books, so I'm really trying not to buy books. I kind of fail at it a lot.

I loved the first one (the blue one). It was a pretty quick and hilarious read, and I can't wait to start reading the other ones after I finish my current nonfiction read.

    1. You're welcome, Shanny!

I'm so excited for the two that I haven't read. These books are just hilarious. And thanks. I'm hoping to have something permanent by August. I might go crazy if I have to sub another year.

      Thank you! :)

  3. I love the sound of these books! I've added them to my TBR but I won't buy them yet because I'm on my own book buying ban (though I don't see it lasting ahah) here's my haul (and also explains the ban): http://enchantedbyya.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/christmas-book-haul.html

    1. The first one is really funny, and some of the answers in the other two look pretty good. I kind of skimmed through some of them just to see. lol

I hope you enjoy them if you read them! :)

  4. Those book seem great! That's such a great promise in theory, but sale books are so hard to say no to... My mum cheats, and just gets free e-books. Because technically she's not buying any, so that's okay, right? At least, that's what she tells my dad :P I did a Christmas edition of Stacking the Shelves if you're interested: https://victoriajaynesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/12/26/stacking-the-shelves-christmas-edition/

    1. I really liked the first one, so I'm hoping the others live up to them. Besides, it's always fun just to read something funny and light.

If I had an e-reader, I'd get as many free e-books as I could. lol
