A while ago, I discovered another great outlet to share your It's Monday posts. Readers of YA and educators can also share their links on the link up tool on Teach Mentor Texts. I highly recommend this if you are a teacher or a librarian because I've discovered so many great books through the bloggers on that list.
So since last week, I finished Zac & Mia by A.J. Betts. If you missed my review, you can read it here. Now I'm working on another ARC, and I plan on starting one or two more ARCs this week. I'm also re-reading a book with a student that I tutor.
What I'm Reading and Planning to Read this Week:
- When Reason Breaks by Cindy L. Rodriguez - It's pretty good so far. If you are a fan of Emily Dickinson and contemporary YA, pick this one up in February. I'll have a review posted in February.
- Staying Strong by Demi Lovato - I'm still reading just one page a day of this book. I like how Demi uses quotes by famous authors and celebrities but also gives her own advice to readers.
- Insurgent by Veronica Roth - I'm re-reading this one with my student that I tutor.
- Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton - I was lucky enough to be one of the first five hundred people to get this on NetGalley. I really hope it's good because I am itching to read a good fantasy. I will post a review for it close to the publication date.
- Since You've Been Gone by Mary Jennifer Payne - This is another NetGalley ARC. It comes out in mid February so look out for a review.
Happy reading!
You have a lot of reading coming up this week! I am currently reading Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson and Kill Me Softly by Sarah Cross.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that Demi Lovato wrote a book. She has always been one of my acting role models, even back when she was an actor with Disney.
I hope you have a great week!
Crazy for YA
OMG. I started The Kiss of Deception, but then I got all of these ARCs that I put it down. Once I start getting through these (which I'm thinking might take two weeks), I'm picking it back up.
DeleteAnd yes... Demi's book is kind of set up like an an advice calendar, but I like it so far. It's cute.
Some interesting choices! And I recognise 2 :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you know I nominated you for an award. :)
Oh, and I tagged you for the seven deadly sins book tag: I'm not sure if you've done it. :) http://lovelyparanormalbooks.blogspot.co.nz/2015/01/the-seven-deadly-sins-book-tag.html
DeleteI saw the award nomination. I'm going to try to get to it soon, but I've got quite a few ARCs to read in the next few weeks.
DeleteThanks for the nomination. I saw that it's a new award, and I hope we can get it around to other bloggers soon! :)
I liked Since You've Been Gone. I still need to read Insurgent and hope to get to it before the movie comes out. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've seen good things about it, so I'm glad I'm finally getting around to it. I've had it on the Amazon cloud for months now. lol
DeleteInsurgent's good. I really enjoyed it, so I was really excited when I was told that my student was reading the books. :)
Is that Demi Lovato one actually worth buying? Or could I just as easily get quotes online? Hope you enjoy all of these! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure some of the quotes she uses or some that she wrote herself are online, but she explains what it means to her in the book too. I don't think all of that would be online. My sister read it, and really liked it. I'm still making up my mind.
DeleteToday I just finished The Winner's Curse so I don't know what I'll be reading next... I've thought about getting Demi Lovato's book that you mentioned but I'm still deciding. Have a great week!

I just ordered The Winner's Curse so I'll be reading that one soon. I wanted to get to it before the sequel comes out.
DeleteI have Since You've Been Gone waiting on my Kindle to review as well. I'll have to check out your post after I've written mine :) - Maggie @ macarons & paperbacks
