Stacking the Shelves (8)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews. The meme is normally posted by Tynga on Saturdays, but I've noticed that other bloggers are posting it on other days of the week.

That's good for me because I already have a Saturday meme and I don't like to post too many things on one day. Because of this, I post my Stacking the Shelves posts whenever I get the chance (or whenever I buy books). My Stacking the Shelves posts are also sporadic because I try not to buy books until I've finished quite a few.
The meme is all about sharing the books you've added to your shelves throughout the week with your readers. The books you're adding to your shelves can be either physical books or digital books for your e-reader.

This week, most of my books are digital review copies. I'm already reading one of them, and I actually had the chance to read a physical copy of one through an ARC tour already.

  • Positively Beautiful by Wendy Mills - I was really glad to be approved to read this on NetGalley because I actually already read it. I went in and submitted my review for this wonderful book right away. I'm waiting to post a review for this one here until closer to the publication date, but I really enjoyed it.
  • When Reason Breaks by Cindy L. Rodriguez - I'm reading this one right now, and I'm enjoying it. It's refreshing because not only is it a diverse book, but there are poems by Emily Dickinson intertwined with the plot.
  • Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton - I haven't started this one yet, but I will soon. It's fantasy, and I'm trying to read a little more fantasy this year.
I also won a copy of The Accidental Highwayman by Ben Tripp. I'm looking forward to reading that soon.

So what did you add to your shelves this week? Have you read any of these yet? Were you approved for any of these titles? Feel free to let me know in the comments, and check back soon for reviews!

  1. Awesome haul Erin! I missed the window of getting Seeker, so I had to request it. I'm not sure of my chances, but I'm glad you got it! I can't wait to see your thoughts on it because I have no idea what it's about (fantasy right?). I haven't heard of the other books, but I hope you enjoy them anyways!

    1. Thanks, Val!

Awe. I'm sorry you missed it, but I hope they approve you. It is fantasy. I hope to start it soon so I can have it reviewed before it comes out. :)

  4. Yay, congrats on your review copies. :) As you already know, I have all three of those too. Haha. I'm really excited for Positively Beautiful, I heard it's great. And emotional. I'll be reading it soon. When Reason Breaks isn't quite working for me, it's goon bit downhill so I may have to step away from it for a day or two. Hopefully Seeker works out well.

    1. Thanks, Amber! It's so nice to finally be getting some awesome titles for review. :)

I know Positively Beautiful is the last of the three to come out, but read it as soon as possible! It's so good, like heart-crushing good. It's definitely one of the most emotional books I've ever read. And I think Bloomsbury hit the jackpot with that one because I can see adults enjoying it too.

When Reason Breaks isn't really working for me either. There are some really good parts, but others seem like they are out of place. I'm at the point where I want to DNF it but I've only got a little bit more to go.

I'm a little worried about Seeker, but I really wanted to read a fantasy book this year.
