Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Each week, meme participants create a post about a book that they cannot wait to get their hands on. It could be one that is being released soon or a book that is still months away from publication - as long as it's not published and you're waiting on it, you're good!
This week, I'm featuring a book by an author who I've never read before. The description of this book had me hooked, so I requested an ARC as soon as humanly possible. I did not get one, but I will be reading this book as soon as I can get my hands on it.
Title: A Court of Thorns and Roses
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Publisher: Bloomsbury Children's
Publication Date: May 5, 2015
Synopsis:
A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

What are you waiting on this week? As always, feel free to let me know in the comments. Happy reading!
I'm excited for this one too! Beauty and the Beast cross faerie lore sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think this one is going to be another hot book this spring. I've already seen the lucky ARC readers start gushing about it on Twitter, so I know it's good. I just can't wait to read it for myself.
DeleteI hope you enjoy it, Shanny! :)
Is there anyone who isn't waiting for this book????? It sounds absolutely amazing, it's a retelling, and it's by Sarah J. Maas (I know you said that you haven't read anything by her, but she's a brilliant writer!). You might be able to tell, but I really want to read this book too!
ReplyDeletemy WOW
I don't think so. Pretty much all the YA bloggers I follow have either read an ARC or are going to buy it on its release day.
DeleteI'm assuming she's good; Throne of Glass just didn't appeal to me, but I might give it a try. But this one... yeah... I like the feel of this one. :)
Why am I the only one who can't seem to enjoy this author's work? Here's hoping this is better than her debut series.
ReplyDeleteI've seen quite a few people admit to not enjoying her books. I've never read her, but this is the book that convinced me to give her a try.
DeleteOMG!! No way!! We have the same book!! Lol. Well, that tells you what a GREAT book it is! I LOVE "Beauty and the Beast" retellings, so I've got to get this one as soon as it comes out!! From the comments, I can see that a lot of people are waiting on this one, too. I've never read any of her books, but I'm definitely starting with this one!
ReplyDeleteBTW, if you haven't already read it, let me recommend "Of Beast and Beauty". I LOVED it!!
Thanks for sharing the book love!! : )
So many people are eagerly waiting for this one, so I'm hoping it's good! I've never read anything by her either, but people rave about her Throne of Glass series. But it didn't seem like something I'd like, so I skipped over it. I'm kind of picky about fantasy. lol
DeleteI haven't read Of Beast and Beauty. To be honest, I'm not sure that I've ever read a Beauty and the Beast retelling even though it's one of my favorite stories.
YES! This is already on my TBR list. It sounds SO good. Plus the cover is gorgeous! Happy reading.

The cover is gorgeous. I love the black and the red together. It's giving me that dark vibe, which is kind of cool. I'm in need of a book like that.
DeleteAhah all her covers are so gorgeous, like the Throne of Glass series covers. Those are so swoon-worthy! Can't wait to read this book either.

I've seen those! They are intense looking, too!
