Waiting on Wednesday (11)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Each week, meme participants create a post about a book that they cannot wait to get their hands on. It could be one that is being released soon or a book that is still months away from publication - as long as it's not published and you're waiting on it, you're good!

This week, I'm featuring a book by an author who I've never read before. The description of this book had me hooked, so I requested an ARC as soon as humanly possible. I did not get one, but I will be reading this book as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Title: A Court of Thorns and Roses
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Publisher: Bloomsbury Children's
Publication Date: May 5, 2015
Synopsis:
A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

What are you waiting on this week? As always, feel free to let me know in the comments. Happy reading!

    1. I think this one is going to be another hot book this spring. I've already seen the lucky ARC readers start gushing about it on Twitter, so I know it's good. I just can't wait to read it for myself.

I hope you enjoy it, Shanny! :)

  2. Is there anyone who isn't waiting for this book????? It sounds absolutely amazing, it's a retelling, and it's by Sarah J. Maas (I know you said that you haven't read anything by her, but she's a brilliant writer!). You might be able to tell, but I really want to read this book too!

    1. I don't think so. Pretty much all the YA bloggers I follow have either read an ARC or are going to buy it on its release day.

I'm assuming she's good; Throne of Glass just didn't appeal to me, but I might give it a try. But this one... yeah... I like the feel of this one. :)

  3. Why am I the only one who can't seem to enjoy this author's work? Here's hoping this is better than her debut series.

From the comments, I can see that a lot of people are waiting on this one, too. I've never read any of her books, but I'm definitely starting with this one!

    1. So many people are eagerly waiting for this one, so I'm hoping it's good! I've never read anything by her either, but people rave about her Throne of Glass series. But it didn't seem like something I'd like, so I skipped over it. I'm kind of picky about fantasy. lol

I haven't read Of Beast and Beauty. To be honest, I'm not sure that I've ever read a Beauty and the Beast retelling even though it's one of my favorite stories.

    1. The cover is gorgeous. I love the black and the red together. It's giving me that dark vibe, which is kind of cool. I'm in need of a book like that.
