Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

My wonderful blogging friend, Tika, gave me one of the best "Get Well Soon" presents that a blogger could ask for by nominating my blog for yet another award!

I couldn't be more thrilled, especially because I've been so sick lately and worrying about the progress I've made on my blog. You have no idea how upset I've been over my blog this week. I've faced so many problems from not being able to read all week to complications with my meme. So I really need to thank Tika. She knows just how to make someone feel better!

Like any blog award, there are some steps that need to be followed for one to accept and pass on this award.

Here are the rules for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award:
  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, and make sure you link back to her blog.
  2. Post the award's logo on your blog.
  3. Answer the ten questions that you've been asked by the person who nominated you.
  4. Nominate ten bloggers for the award.
  5. Ask ten new questions for your nominees to answer.

My Nominees:

  1. Lauren @ A Blonde Librarian
  2. Connie @ The YA Book Thief
  3. Gloria @ Gloria the Violinist
  4. Blessie @ Mischievous Reads
  5. Robin @ Where Books Lead Us
  6. Anna @ Enchanted by YA
  7. Alex @ The Book's Buzz
  8. Cassia @ Crazy for YA
  9. Sabrina @ Sabrina's Stories
  10. Jess @ My Reading Dress

 My Questions for my Nominees:

  1. Do you own an e-reader or a tablet to read digital books? If so, what one(s), and how do you like it/them?
  2. What is your favorite genre? Why?
  3. Confession time! If you could step foot in the library that the Beast gives Belle (Beauty and the Beast), what would you do?
  4. What do you think about love triangles in books?
  5. What is your favorite book to movie adaptation?
  6. Are there any books that you wish you would have never read? What are they?
  7. Have you ever met any authors? If so, who? Feel free to include pictures if you're comfortable with that...
  8. Do you have any autographed books? What ones?
  9. Do you carry a book with you everywhere you go?
  10. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

My Answer's to Tika's Questions:

  1. Q: What is your least favorite book at the moment?
A: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I think it will be my least favorite book for a long time.
  2. Q: What is one book you've read this year that is worth a re-read?
A: Damsel Distressed by Kelsey Macke
  3. Q: If I asked you to recommend me any book of your choosing, what would it be?
A: If I had to recommend any book to Tika, it would be Attachments by Rainbow Rowell because I think she'd like the setting and the characters in this Adult Fiction novel. I think it would be a great book for her to add to her TBR list.
  4. Q: If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would it be? Why?
A: Hermione Granger because she's the ultimate role model for girls. She can be smart, caring, and hardcore at the same time.
  5. Q: What's your favorite meal?
A: I love Buffalo chicken salad, but sadly my favorite is from the pizza shop where I used to work and I won't order from there anymore because the employees treated me terribly because I was the only one who actually worked.
  6. Q: Hardback, Paperback, or E-copy?
A: Hardcover! I love hardback books simply because they last longer. They are also so pretty, and I love displaying mine on my shelves. I do prefer paperbacks to e-books, though.
  7. Q: Name two books you've given a negative review to this year. In one sentence tell me why.
    A:
Elixir by Ted Galdi - I gave it one star because there was no focus to the plot, and jumped around way too much.
Mortal Danger by Ann Aguirre - I was so offended by how vain the main character is and how she was so focused on falling in love after trying to kill herself.
(I left the links to my reviews in my answer in case you need more than one sentence. I swear it's not really cheating because I answered in one sentence!)
  8. Q: If I gave you a lighter and told you to set three books that you share a love/hate relationship with on fire. Which three would it be? A: OMG. I can't answer this question. Even if I hate a book, I'd never catch it on fire.
Okay... I might catch The Fault in Our Stars on fire, but that's probably the only one. Probably. Okay... maybe Mortal Danger. There's two...
  9. Q: You're the main character in a New Adult novel. You move into a dorm/off-campus apartment and have a swoon worthy boy residing across the hall. You guys hit it off immediately and begin "lusting" for one another. What fictional character is he?
A: I don't know if I'm supposed to answer this with a New Adult book character. If so, I can't answer it because I've never read a New Adult book! I really need to give one a chance one of these days.
  10. Q: If you could write your own memoir, what would the title be?
    A: Against the Wind

  1. OMG your answers were so good! Number 5 would've had me fighting somebody, I love food too much for it to be played with lmao. It's funny that you would recommend Attachments to me because I already read it and LOVED it. Anything Rainbow Rowell writes is gold to me. You didn't cheat at all in number 7, they're definitely sentences, which is quite impressive because I don't know if I could've answered it. I knew you would say TFIOS for number 8! lol For number 9 the character is any fictional character of your choosing. It doesn't have to be a New Adult character. Oh and you have to read more titles from the genre, i've read some great NA books so far this year!

    Great answers!

    1. You don't mess with food. I hope they all get busted and get in trouble for it.

I didn't know you read Attachments. I went to your Goodreads and didn't see it, so I thought it would be a good one. It's my favorite RR book.

I think everyone would be able to guess I'd choose TFIOS for number eight. lol I just hate it so so so much.

And okay... I was so unsure about the New Adult question. I really do need to explore that genre. It seems like it's the new thing and that it's here to stay.

    2. I want to say I read it the beginning of this year after I read Fangirl. I can't remember if I read it before or after Eleanor & Park, I think before. lol E&P is my least favorite RR book right now, being that I haven't read Landline just yet. Even though you hated the book, did you see the movie? I actually enjoyed the movie better than I did the book. It was pretty spot on, so I'm sure if you hated reading it, you might not enjoy the movie lol. I liked Divergent when I read it, but the movie is so damn boring. If it wasn't for the guy who plays Tobias with his fine ass, I wouldn't have watched it lol. Yep New Adult seems to be the rave right now. I definitely get it because some of the stories are so good! I recently read Ugly Love, and loved it so much. I def recommend you start some NA books!

    3. I liked Eleanor & Park, but I do like Rainbow's adult stuff more. I need to re-read Fangirl. I don't think I read it very fairly. lol

I watched a bootleg of TFIOS online one night, and I thought it followed the book well, but I didn't like it. lol

I did enjoy the Divergent movie. I feel like I might be one of the only people who actually did. I think some of the changes they made were cool, but I was angry about a lot of the cuts they made, but apparently they are adding all of that into the Insurgent movie.

I'll get into some New Adult. It's so funny... I was nominated for an award under the category of Best New Adult Blogger, but I've never read a thing in the genre. People keep telling me to read Losing It, but it honestly looks like a piece of trash to me. lol

  2. Thank you for the nomination, Erin! I was weary about Mortal Danger but now may just avoid it all together!

I hope you get better soon :)

    1. You're welcome! Yeah... Mortal Danger was not for me. I'm certainly glad I didn't buy it. lol

And thanks. :) I'm starting to feel a little better, but physical activity makes breathing more difficult.

  3. Hey! Attachments is great! It's like teen fiction and adult fiction combined :3 I just love Rainbow Rowel... Have you read Landline yet? It is entirely fabulous! This was a really fun blog to read by the by!
Anyhow.. I actually just tagged you in The Seven Deadly Sins Tag over at my blog :3 If you have the time you should have a go! It's good fun :3 Let me know if you do, I'd love to have a read!!

    1. I read Landline. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad.

And okay. I think you're like the seventh or eighth person to tag me in that one. I keep promising to get around to them, but I've been kind of busy. I'll let you know if I eventually get to it! :)

I love Buffalo chicken salad. I actually had one for dinner tonight. lol

  5. Hey Erin! Hope you get better soon! I'm insanely curious as to why you dislike The Fault In Our Stars, because, well for me, I enjoyed the book but I didn't do so much in the movie. I imagined much more brutal scenes so it didn't reach my expectations. Haha!

And anything 'chicken' is amazing. Like the best meat ever. I'd eat anything chicken. lol

Oh and you should definitely check out New Adult books, although they do explore mature content, but in a less explicit manner.

Thanks again for the nomination! I'll tag you and Tika once I'm done answering your questions. ;D

    1. Thanks, Blessie! I'm starting to feel a little better every day, but I still need breathing treatments.

And yes... I hated The Fault in Our Stars. Two of the neighborhood girls and one of my sister's best friends died of childhood cancer, so I didn't buy into it because it just seemed way too preposterous. Sick kids don't talk like Hazel and Augustus, so for me, I found it to be an extremely tacky way to write about childhood and teen cancer. I also couldn't get behind the way Green wrote it; it was overly annoying.

I probably will read some New Adult books, but I don't know where to start. I do know that I have no interest in Losing It, so at least that's a good thing.

And take your time to answer the questions! :)

But seriously... take your time. I'm still so behind on book tags, so I understand. :)

  7. You're the best for nominating me! I'm sorry that I probably won't be able to post my amazing answer to your questions. It's just with all the new books coming out and the countless strays of ARCS and review copies I have sitting on my table. Ahh and also I love the new blog header. It's so chic and simple! Keep up the good work Erin!

And no worries. I just figured you'd appreciate the award, especially because your blog is so awesome.

I checked out some of that stuff you Tweeted about last night, and I am so excited to see everything that you have planned.

And thank you! I was getting so sick of my old template, and I thought that this one was a bit more mature and professional.

  8. Great questions and answers! I loved reading this ;) I was also someone who was disappointed by the Fault in Our Stars and thought it would be a lot better than it really was. I still look forward to the movie though, because it has one of my favourite female actresses in it - Shailene Woodley.

    1. Thank you, Olivia! :)

I've been finding more and more people who didn't like TFIOS through blogging, so it definitely makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who hated it. The movie follows through pretty much spot on, so I didn't really enjoy it. But I love Shailene Woodley, too. I've been following her since she was in Felicity. I heard she's going to be Mary Jane Watson in the next Amazing Spiderman movie, so I'm excited for that.

  10. Thank you for tagging me! I finally got around to posting my responses - sorry about that.

I can't wait until Damsel Distressed comes out so that I can read it - it sounds amazing. Sorry to hear about your pizza shop coworkers. It must have been tough being the only one to do any work.

    1. You're welcome, Sabrina! I love visiting your blog. :) I can't wait to head on over and read your answers. :)

And Damsel Distressed is out! It came out yesterday, and I'm so happy! It's such a amazing book.

OMG. They were pretty terrible. They also harassed me, so I'm glad I'm gone. I miss the money because I was paid $10.75 an hour, but it wasn't worth being down all the time.

    2. Thanks, that means a lot!

Oh wow. Should have looked that up before commenting! Hopefully I'll get it soon.

Yikes. No amount of money is worth being harassed. How awful.

    3. You're welcome! :)

And no worries. It didn't get a huge amount of attention, even though it totally deserves it. Let me know if you read it. I'd love to see what you have to say about it.

I agree. I'm so glad I'm done with that place. It was terrible.
