TBR Thursday (4)

TBR Thursday is a meme that was started by Sarah (Words with Sarah). What you need to do to participate is find a book that has been on your TBR list for three or more months, and make a conscious effort to read it. You'll then make a post and link back to Sarah's blog.

It's been a while since I've participated in TBR Thursday, but only because I've been reading a lot of newer releases. The book I'm focusing on this week is technically a brand new book, but I've been waiting for it for a while.

This week, I'm reading The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey. It is the highly anticipated sequel to The 5th Wave

I read The 5th Wave this past summer, and I immediately knew that I needed to read the sequel. I waited and waited. I pre-ordered the book. But... when it got to my house, I had a busy schedule full of ARCs and R2Rs. But I have some spare time right now, and I am reading this baby before anyone spoils it for me!

Synopsis:
How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

So what are you reading this week? As always, feel free to let me know in the comments! I'd love to see all the picks you've made.

Happy reading!

  1. After I finish Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins, I'm going to start *swallows nervously* Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan. I've managed not to get spoiled so far, but it's only a matter of time before some random inconsiderate tweet advertises a huge death or something, so I'd better get on it, haha. I'm just not prepared for the series (and the beloved characters) to come to a close :( So in preparation for the mourning period, I'm probably going to read Lola right afterwards to try to cheer myself up.

    1. How are the Hex Hall books? I read her book, Rebel Belle, and I hated it. I'm still just a tad curious about her other stuff, though.

I still haven't read a single Rick Riordan book, and no one has ever spoiled me on a single one, so at least there's that. Maybe people in that fandom are just better about hiding the spoilers. lol

  2. Ohh! Before I sit some exams, I'm just scrapping up my October/early November ARCs right now. I did just read Angelfall which was AMAZING, Grave Mercy which was so, so and I have A Thousand Pieces of You lined up. I'm hoping to read The Young Elites as well! I hope you enjoy this one because I remembered that you liked The 5th Wave:))

    1. What ARCs do you have for October and November? I read all of mine already, but I'm looking for more.

I really want A Thousand Pieces of You. It's already so talked about that I know I just need to have it.

  3. I'm currently reading The House of Hades and it's taking me longer than I thought because my brain is telling me to put it down... I think it knows the series is coming to an end and doesn't like the idea LOL.

    1. What series is that book in?

But I know how you feel about feeling sad about getting to the end of a series. It's such a bittersweet moment because you're excited to see how things are tied up (if they are), but you're sad because that means no more books. :(
