Top Ten Tuesday (20)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created and hosted by the awesome bloggers at The Broke and the Bookish. They created the meme because they love making and sharing bookish lists. Well that's just one thing that I have in common with them because list making is essential to my life.

Every week, there is a new topic for Top Ten Tuesday, and all you have to do is create your top ten list (or somewhere around ten if you can't think of ten) based on it. Oh, and be sure to link back to The Broke and the Bookish! Then you can add your name to the link up tool that they include in their post!

Top Ten Characters I'd Like To Check In With:

  1. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) - Do I really need to explain this one? She's probably my most favorite literary character ever, and the updates that Rowling gives us just aren't enough for me.
  2. Alice Franklin (The Truth About Alice) - Jennifer Mathieu created an interesting character in her debut novel, and I kind of want to know more about her life after all of the bullying and harassment.
  3. Dee/Lilah Montgomery (Open Road Summer) - Obviously I loved Reagan's story, but I feel like there is so much more to learn about Dee's life as herself and as her country superstar alter-ego.
  4. Eleanor Douglas (Eleanor & Park) - I'm sure that everyone wants to know what happened to Eleanor. I just want to know that she's okay. I don't even care if she and Park didn't end up together; I just want to make sure that she was able to get the help she needed.
  5. Lena Haloway (Delirium) - Okay... so I might be one of the few people who loved how Lauren Oliver ended her Delirium trilogy, but I'd want to check in on Lena a few years later.
  6. Charlie (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) - Charlie is so close to my heart, and he's the character who really made me fall in love with YA. Of course I'd want to check in on him and see how he's doing after realizing everything that he went through as a child.
  7. Molly Weasley (Harry Potter) - Most loving and fierce mother ever? Umm, YES! I think it would be a great experience to see how Molly is after everything that she's been through. Oh, and can you imagine how great of a grandmother she'd be?
  8. Anna Oliphant (Anna and the French Kiss series) - I really enjoyed reading about Anna and Étienne St. Clair and their beautiful love affair. Obviously I'd love to check in on both of them after Isla.
  9. Greg Gaines (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) - I loved Greg's sense of humor and pretty much everything about him. I'd love a chance to see him a few months or even a few years after the book concludes to see how he's doing.
  10. Auggie Pullman (Wonder) - I loved Auggie! He's just a sweet character with such a good heart. I'd love to see him as a teenager and see how he adapts to high school.

  1. A few of these characters also made my list. The characters from Harry Potter seem to be very popular this week. I think everybody agrees that we need more Harry Potter books.

    1. OMG. I would love it if there were more Harry Potter books! They would probably be the only books I'd need for the rest of my life.

  2. I just finished ORS for the second time last night, and YES I want more of Dee’s life! Especially after she moves out on her own - and what about Jimmy?? Must know.

Molly Weasley would be the greatest grandmother ever. I didn’t know I needed that until now O_O

    1. I read that one just a bit ago, but it would be awesome to see more of Dee! I know there is a new chapter from her POV out there, but it's not enough for me. I want a book from her perspective. lol

I want Molly to be my grandmother. :)

  3. Hermione and and Lena both made my lists too! Personally, I think the ending of Requiem was too open-ended, so I really want to know how everything ended.

I also want to know what Hermione is doing with all of her awesomeness. She could basically get any job she wanted and have even more adventures than she did at Hogwarts.

    1. Oh man. I loved the open-ended ending that Oliver left us with. I have all of these theories in my head about what happens after, and it just made it seem like it was all mine to decide. You know?

Hermione is hands down the coolest, most bad ass witch ever. I'd love to see her as a mom, but I kind of want her to become a professor at some point. I think she'd love teaching at Hogwarts.

  4. I've seen lots of Harry Potter characters on these lists today (mostly Luna and Neville) but this is the first time I've seen Molly! That's a good pick; she would be an interesting character to follow.

    1. I've seen a lot of Luna too! I don't even know why I didn't include her! I even named my cat after her.

Thanks! I thought more people would include Molly, but it kind of makes me feel special to think that I might have been the only one. :)

  5. I loved how Lauren Oliver ended the series! Although I would love to hear more from Lena!

    1. *High Fives* You have got to be the first person to ever admit to me (and agree with me) that you liked how Oliver ended that trilogy! I applaud you so much right now because I was feeling so alone! I thought it was an almost perfect ending, but yes... I'd love to check in to see how Lena is dealing after all of that turmoil.

  6. Oh I wanted to check in with Dee from ORS too! I really wished she'd gotten her own book! Harry is always a great choice. I was satisfied with the book's ending, but I'm with you- I wouldn't mind seeing how he was!
