So what do you need to do to participate in The Friday 56?
- Go to page 56 (or 56% for e-readers like Kindle and Nook) of the book you're currently reading
- Grab a few sentences to share with your blog's readers, but be sure not to spoil anything too major from the book
- Add your name and link to the link-up on Freda's blog
Anyway... I'm really excited for this week's pick because the book showed up on my front porch months and months ago. I wanted to read it right away, but I guess it showed up when all my late spring books showed up, and you know me... I typically read them in publication order. Well... I skipped a few (for now) to get to this beauty because I couldn't wait any longer! It's my most anticipated release all year.
*The quote that follows does not reflect the final printing. I'm sharing a quote from an uncorrected proof that could very well be changed in the published version.*
Now it's your turn! I'd love to know what books you're featuring on your blogs this week, so feel free to share the links to your Friday 56 posts! You know I love blog hopping, so leave a link, and I'll drop by."I used to hate it, all their macoin' - being nosy. But now I couldn't decide which was worse - having neighbors spy on me, counsel me like they knew the workings of my heart? Or having them look right through me?"
Have a great weekend!
I've never heard of this meme before! But it sounds nice.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're loving this book.I've always wanted to read a Sarah Ockler novel.
Oooo, this book sounds really interesting! I'm going to have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteMacoin'?? I'm stumped... lol
ReplyDeleteOther than that it sounds like these people know her too well. Sounds like a good read!
I added you to the Linky! Happy weekend?
I hope one day you join us in The Friday 56! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe main character, Elyse, is from Trinidad and Tobago, so I'm guessing it's a colloquial term there. It's a very good read so far! I am loving this one, and cannot wait to see what other people think of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Freda! Have a great weekend!
I am LOVING it so far! It's really diverse, and I love how Ockler is able to weave so many different ideas and cultures together in it.
ReplyDeleteOMG. The Friday 56 is one of my favorite memes! It's so fun to read little snips of books and figure out if I want to read them or not.
ReplyDeleteI love Sarah Ockler. If you ever need help choosing one of her books, let me know. :)
