Last week, I was reading Zodiac by Romina Russell, and I planned to read Flawless by Sara Shepard. I didn't start the second Pretty Little Liars book because I forgot all about wanting to read another book.
Unfortunately, I got extremely sick over the weekend, and took a trip to the emergency room, so I don't know how much reading I'll actually get done this week.
What I'm Reading This Week:
Title: Atlantia
Author: Ally Condie
Synopsis:
Can you hear Atlantia breathing?
For as long as she can remember, Rio has dreamt of the sand and sky Above—of life beyond her underwater city of Atlantia. But in a single moment, all her plans for the future are thwarted when her twin sister, Bay, makes an unexpected decision, stranding Rio Below. Alone, ripped away from the last person who knew Rio’s true self—and the powerful siren voice she has long hidden—she has nothing left to lose.
Guided by a dangerous and unlikely mentor, Rio formulates a plan that leads to increasingly treacherous questions about her mother’s death, her own destiny, and the complex system constructed to govern the divide between land and sea. Her life and her city depend on Rio to listen to the voices of the past and to speak long-hidden truths.

I hope you feel better soon. Trips to the ER are not much fun. Atlantia sounds amazing. Of course, knowing Allie Condie wrote it makes it even better!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel like I've been sick for the majority of the time that I've been running this blog. lol
DeleteTrips to the ER are such a part of me, though. I'm literally always there because I'm super clumsy and because I have a weakened immune system because of a disease I have.
I'm enjoying Atlantia so far. I almost didn't want to read it because I detested the Matched trilogy, but I read the preview on NetGalley, and knew that I had to give her another chance.
I'm interested to see a new Ally Condie novel. My readers were excited by the Matched series, and will be excited about this one. Sorry to hear you are sick. You know just how ill you are when you haven't got it in you to read!
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking it so far. She's created a really interesting world that I want to learn more about.
DeleteI'm hoping that I can read the majority of it tomorrow. I'm still not well enough to go back to work, but I'm hoping I'll be okay enough to read in bed.
I hope you are feeling better. I am looking forward to Atlantia. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI can't wait to see what you think of it. You'll have to let me know. :)
Hope you feel better soon! I haven't heard the greatest of things about Ally Condie's books so I don't think I'll be picking up those in the future :/
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI read the entire Matched series, and I absolutely regret it. Everyone kept telling me that they'd get better, but they never did. This one is pretty good so far, but I don't really have the highest of hopes. But if I hate it, I can always sell it to Half Price Books for a little money back.
I haven't had a good past with Ally Condie's books so I'm not really sure about this one! But let's see what you think about it. And I hope you feel better soon! Have a lovely week. :D
ReplyDeleteI've only read her Matched trilogy, and I didn't like it. I haven't read her other books, but I'm willing to give them a try - they seem more like something I'd like.
DeleteThank you. I'm starting to feel a bit better.
I'll definitely post a review for this one. I think it would only be fair after writing a series review for Matched.
