December 2014 Wrap Up

I know I've done my 2014 Year in Review post, but in all the excitement of the new year, I kind of forgot to do my monthly wrap up post, which I love.

Oh no! No... not really. I knew I'd eventually catch up, and I did!

Anyway... December 2014 is officially over, and it's time to look back at the month and think ahead to what will happen in January. As you guys probably guessed, Santa did not bring me any books for Christmas, but that's okay because I got some much needed cash that I used for some new jeans and groceries. (I'm starting to sound really old.) I'm probably going to use the little bit that remains and put it towards a Kindle or an iPad.

I think December was a pretty solid reading month for me. According to Goodreads, I read ten books, and Goodreads doesn't lie. I was actually kind of surprised when I saw that because it didn't feel like I did a lot of reading in December.

Books I Read in December 2014:

  • Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan - I'd heard really good about these things, so when I decided to read a Christmas book, I went for this one. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. My full review can be read here.
  • Wish by Grier Cooper - I read this for an upcoming blog tour. I enjoyed the book, and check back in a few weeks to see a review for this book.
  • Furry Logic by Jane Seabrook - This was a title I snagged from Blogging for Books. It was really cute and funny. If you'd like to find out more, check out my review.
  • The List by Siobhan Vivian - Ummm. I didn't really like this book, but if you'd like to know more about why, you can go to my review.
  • Vivian Apple at the End of the World by Katie Coyle - This is a solid debut by Katie Coyle, and I really enjoyed it despite feeling like I might not have enjoyed it. Feel free to check out my review, and be sure to buy it on Tuesday (1/6/15) if you want to read it!
  • All Fall Down by Ally Carter - This was the first book I'd ever read by Ally Carter, and I was impressed. My review will be posted in a few weeks.
  • The Selection Stories: The Prince & The Guard - by Kiera Cass - I bought this a long time ago, but it was sitting on my shelf, collecting dust. I decided to finally read it, and I was a fan of Maxon's story. If you'd like to see more on this novella collection, check out my review.
  • The Burn for Burn trilogy by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian - I really enjoyed this trilogy, and I think it was a nice way to end the year.
So there are the books that I read in December. I'm really proud of myself for posting reviews for all of them! I'm not including a January TBR this time around because I have a better time when I just pick and choose what I want to read based on my moods.

  2. Oooh, the Burn for Burn trilogy sounds good, definitely adding to the TBR! And yet again, I still haven't read any of these books. But some of them are on my TBR, collecting dust, lol.

    1. I really liked the Burn for Burn books. They were ones that kind of shocked me because I expected to hate them.

Blessie, you should see all the books I own that are collecting dust. There are probably about one hundred of them. Oops. lol

    1. It was definitely because of the way it was written. It's got a good plot though.

All Fall Down was so good. I will have to pick up more Ally Carter in the future.

  5. Ten books in December is great! I think I read three. All Fall Down and the Burn for Burn trilogy are on my TBR. I'm a little iffy on Dash and Lily because I haven't liked the other Rachel Cohn and David Levithan books I've read, but I'll probably try to squeeze it in next Christmas. I've heard good things about it.

    1. Three isn't bad, especially with the holidays. I literally stayed up so many nights to finish some of those books.

Honestly... I don't know if I want to read any other books by them unless it's Nick and Nora. This one was just an okay book for me. I know others love it, but it wasn't for me.
