Hey, there, everyone! Today is an exciting day for me because, as you can see, it's my blog's first blogiversary! That's right! One year ago today, I started my book blog, The Hardcover Lover. During that day, I had a few different bookish blog names, (Break the Spine, Turn the Pages, etc.), but I am glad that I settled on The Hardcover Lover because it really represents who I am as a reader and book collector. My shelves are filled with hardcover books. Don't get me wrong... I do have a few paperbacks, but hardcovers are my first love.
Anyway... This post is one that I've been waiting for a year to write because I made it a goal of mine to reach one year when I started this blog. While I covered a lot about blogging and my blogiversary about a week ago in a previous post, I wanted to take the time to thank some of the many people who have helped me during my first year of blogging.
Thank Yous
Tika (Fangirl Confessions) - Tika, you are one of the first bloggers that I followed and immediately connected with on a personal level. I've loved this past year, and all of our little chats. You make me feel a little bit more ambitious, and I love you for bringing out a fierceness in me that I never knew existed. Even when we aren't reading the same things, we always find a way to talk about the books we're reading, and I absolutely love it. And of course... I love you!
Shannon (It Starts at Midnight) - Shannon, you are one of my favorite people in the blogging community because you are always so kind to everyone. You give great advice, and I love our little Twitter conversations that aren't little at all, and all of our DMs. Thank you so much for everything you've done to help me out during my short blogging life.
Holly (The Fox's Hideaway) - When I first started following your blog and your Twitter, I was afraid to actually say anything to you. Don't ask me why, but for some reason, you intimidated me. But look how far we've come! We talk so much now, and I love all of our conversations. Plus, you're my go-to-girl for fantasy recommedations.
Amber (YA Indulgences) - Amber, you are also one of the first book bloggers that I started following, and I've loved watching your blog grow over the past year. You have so many great things on your blog, and I always look forward to Wondrous Covers Wednesday posts. You're one of the sweetest people I've "met" in the past year, and I just want to thank you for being such a great friend to me.
Emma (Miss Print) - Emma! You are seriously one of the greatest people I've come across in the book blogging world. I know that I can always ask you anything, and that you'll always have the answers. You're always so helpful, especially when it comes to proofreading posts, book ideas, or even just when I want to ask you questions about your job. You rock, and I am so glad that I've gotten to know you over the past year.
Blessie (Mischievous Reads) - Blessie, you are also one of the first bloggers that I followed. I love following you because you and I have very different tastes in books. It's always fun to see what you're reading and what you think of it. Plus, you're pretty cool. It's always fun to talk to you and the rest of the girls on Voxer (I have to figure out my username!).
Nori (ReadWriteLove28) - Nori, you are so kind, not only to me, but to everyone in the book community. To be honest, until I started organizing The Class of July 2014 Book Bloggers' Anniversary Bash, I thought that you were a veteran blogger with years behind you because you're always on the ball. I love chatting with you on Twitter, and I love how you make sure that the blogging community always stays positive. You're a great friend, and I wish you luck, especially with Book it Con next month!
Thanks for All the Comments
I also want to thank the many people who leave comments on my blog. It means so much to me that you read the things I post here.

I know I probably forgot a lot of people, and I apologize for that. It's so hard to remember everyone, but all of my followers are fabulous. Each and every single one of you mean the world to me. I love talking with all of my you, and I love learning about you and your bookish habits.
As a way to thank you, I've got a giveaway for you, and yes... it's international (just as long as The Book Depository ships to your country)!
Please be honest with your entries. I will remove falsified entries because it's not fair to the people who actually take the time to complete the task. And besides... all the tasks are simple, so there really shouldn't be any cheating.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, I have to work all day today. That means I won't be able to check in with you and celebrate until later this evening, but if you leave a comment, I'll be sure to reply when I get home.
Again, thank you to everyone who has ever visited my blog, commented on a post, or interacted with me. It means so much to me that you take time out of your day to make The Hardcover Lover a stop.

OMG this is the sweetest thing ever Erin! I have absolutely no clue how we even started connecting, but I'm so glad that we're still going on strong. & yes girl, you know us Leos stand up for each other, and are known to bring the best out of people. I've always known you had a fierce kitty buried deep inside you, you just needed me to bring it out! lol. Congratulations on making it to a year! How cool is it that we're both reaching a milestone at the same time?! Here's to many more! * holds up shot glass * lol.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BLOGIVERSARY ERIN!!! Thanks so much for the shoutout! This is the sweetest thing ever! You're awesome! I know we don't talk much (as I'm not that active in the DMs, lol) but I know we click! Congratulations on your blogiversary! Keep up the goodwork, girl! ;D
ReplyDeleteI don't remember how we got to talking either, to be honest, but I'm so glad that we did. I've loved having you as my friend and partner in crime this past year.
ReplyDeleteIt is so cool that we're both reaching it at the same time! I'm pretty sure that I followed you last year because you created your blog around the same time, and I'm so so so so glad that we get to share a blogiversary month. :)
*brings vodka*
You are so very welcome, Blessie! It does kind of suck that we don't talk much, but I blame that on the twelve hour time difference. It's such a weird one. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! :)
Hahahha Holly? Intimidating? What?
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BLOGOVERSARY ERIN!!!!!!!! Thanks for the shoutout by the way!!!! :D :D :D Hope you continue to blog...oh...forever :)
Yes. I thought Holly was intimidating, but only because she talked to a ton of people on Twitter and when I would Tweet her, she never answered back.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're welcome! :)
