Cover Reveal: The Wicked Will Rise

I've been waiting for this day for like four months now, and it's finally here. Danielle Paige and HarperCollins have revealed the cover for The Wicked Will Rise, which is the second book in the Dorothy Must Die series. While it won't be released until March 30, 2015, we can look at this cover and begin to imagine what happens to Amy next.

I love it! I was expecting something similar to the cover of Dorothy Must Die, so I am as happy as a kid in a candy store right now. It's just so perfect.

Check it out!

I love the simplicity of it, and I love how the green pays homage to the original books. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this so it can sit next to its sister.

What do you think? Have you read Dorothy Must Die? Are you excited for the sequel?

Synopsis:
In this dark, high-octane sequel to the New York Times bestselling Dorothy Must Die, Amy Gumm must do everything in her power to kill Dorothy and free Oz.

To make Oz a free land again, Amy Gumm was given a mission: remove the Tin Woodman’s heart, steal the Scarecrow’s brain, take the Lion’s courage, and then Dorothy must die....

But Dorothy still lives. Now the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked has vanished, and mysterious Princess Ozma might be Amy’s only ally. As Amy learns the truth about her mission, she realizes that she’s only just scratched the surface of Oz’s past—and that Kansas, the home she couldn't wait to leave behind, may also be in danger. In a place where the line between good and evil shifts with just a strong gust of wind, who can Amy trust—and who is really Wicked?

  1. The second book already? I didn't even read the first book yet. Oh gosh this is embarrassing. I'm so behind in the series. I love the cover thought. You're right, the simplicity is what makes it stand out the most.

    1. Don't fret. It won't be out until the spring. You still have plenty of time to read Dorothy Must Die before the next one comes out! :)

    1. I really liked the first book too. She revealed the cover for the next e-novella, but I didn't catch when that will be available. I really don't read the companion stories if they are only e-books. I feel like it's a waste of money.

  3. Wow, love this!! I also like the simplicity of it and the green. What a perfect match to the first book (which I still need to read!).

    1. The green is my favorite part of it! OMG. The first book was so good. I didn't like the prequel as much, but I didn't want Dorothy Must Die to end.
