Waiting on Wednesday (31)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme created and hosted by Jill at her blog, Breaking the Spine. The meme helps bloggers and readers spotlight some of the many upcoming releases that we are all patiently (but most likely impatiently) waiting on.

It's pretty simple to participate in Waiting on Wednesday:

  • Create your own Waiting on Wednesday post that features an upcoming title (or titles)

What I'm Waiting On...

 Title: When We Collided
Author: Emery Lord
Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Childrens
Publication Date: April 5, 2016
Meet Vivi and Jonah: A girl and a boy whose love has the power save or destroy them.

Vivi and Jonah couldn't be more different. Vivi craves anything joyful or beautiful that life can offer. Jonah has been burdened by responsibility for his family ever since his father died. As summer begins, Jonah resigns himself to another season of getting by. Then Vivi arrives, and suddenly life seems brighter and better. Jonah is the perfect project for Vivi, and things finally feel right for Jonah. Their love is the answer to everything. But soon Vivi's zest for life falters, as her adventurousness becomes true danger-seeking. Jonah tries to keep her safe, but there's something important Vivi hasn't told him.

Perfect for fans of E. Lockhart and Jandy Nelson, When We Collided is a powerful story of two teens whose love is put to the test by forces beyond their control.

Why I'm Waiting...

It's pretty clear to me now that I'm an Emery girl fangirl, and I am not ashamed of it. Nope. Not ashamed at all. I just love her work. It's always so emotional, but it's still perfectly and realistically flawed. I'm an Emery fangirl for life. I will read anything by her, and I mean it. I'm just that impressed by her two published novels.

First of all... look at that cover! It's not what I was expecting after seeing the cover art for Ms. Lord's two previous titles, but I love it!

Anyway, I knew halfway through reading The Start of Me and You that I needed this book in my life. Ms. Lord was amazing at teasing fans all through The Start of Me and You with the romance, so I'm expecting huge things from When We Collided. And it falls into that ocean of issue books that I love to explore! I can't wait to get my hands on this baby, and I really, and I mean really hope that I somehow end up with an ARC of this one because I just know that I'll go crazy waiting to read this one.

What Are You Waiting On...

Like always, ladies and gentlemen, feel free to let me know if you're anticipating this title from Emery Lord or another book. Feel free to leave a comment or a link to your Waiting on Wednesday posts. I love checking them out to see what everyone plans on reading!
