Soundtrack Saturday (15)

Wow! It's hard to believe that this is my fifteenth Soundtrack Saturday post.

In case you're a new follower or just noticing the meme, here's what it's all about:

Soundtrack Saturday is a book meme that I created so I can share my love of music with my readers. There is a catch, though... The soundtracks are book soundtracks! As with all bookish memes, there are a few steps to follow to help you create your own Soundtrack Saturday post:

  • Choose a book that you've read
  • Create a mini or full soundtrack for that book based on characters and plot details
    • For more detailed instructions, visit the meme's homepage.
  • Please credit me somewhere in your post
    • It can be as simple as "Soundtrack Saturday was created by Erin at The Hardcover Lover.
  • Please comment on my post, so I can be sure to check out your post
  • Add your name to the link-up tool
This week's book for Soundtrack Saturday is Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian. If you missed my review, check it out here.

  1. "Summer Love" by Justin Timberlake
  2. "Happy" by Pharrell Williams
  3. "All About You" by Hilary Duff
  4. "One More Night" by Maroon 5
  5. "Lips are Movin'" by Meghan Trainor
  6. "Roar" by Katy Perry
  7. "I'm Not the Only One" by Sam Smith
  8. "I Love It" by Icona Pop
  9. "Done" by The Band Perry
  10. "Tiptoe" by Imagine Dragons
  11. "Chandelier" by Sia
  12. "Dark Side" by Kelly Clarkson
  13. "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift

As always, feel free to participate in the meme! I'd love to see some of the songs that you think of while you're reading or what songs remind you of certain books. Feel free to leave a comment to let me know what you think of this week's soundtrack.

Happy reading!

  1. If this book is associated to Meghan Trainor, I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this book! OMG I can't get over Meghan Trainor's voice and how she is a one hit wonder. She is amazing, and I need all her albums and concert tickets. I haven't read this book yet but according to your choice in soundtracks, I believe this looks like a fierce and kind of romantic novel. I've been wanting to read some more Jenny Han lately, but there are just so many more authors I actually do read from, like science fiction and fantasy novels.

    1. I really liked that song for a situation that comes about it the beginning of the book. Meghan has one hell of a voice. Even my dad likes her. lol

It's actually not as romantic as my soundtrack suggests, but there is a little to it. The book is kind of all over the place. lol

I'm really liking Jenny Han. I still need to read her Summer series, but I loved To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and this is shaping up to be a great series so far. I'm thinking it's more her doing than Vivian's (because Vivian is kind of weak).

  2. What a cool meme! I might have to try this, I love music and the concept for this post sounds fun. I recently read Burn for Burn too, and I really enjoyed it. I think your song choices fit the book well (haha I can't resist a mix of Happy and Chandelier). I noticed you're reading Fire with Fire; I just started the book last night, and I think it'll be interesting to see how Reeve's revenge plays out, but I'm a little iffy on Mary's loving him but not. Anyways, thanks for sharing!:)

    1. Awe! Thank you! I'm hoping more people participate. It's been just me the past few weeks. lol

I am a little more than halfway through Fire with Fire now, and so far it's okay. I think I'm right where the crazy stuff is supposed to happen. I'll definitely have a review of it up on the blog soon.

  3. This is such a cute feature! I have features before too but I have no updates on them. I have not read Burn for Burn or its other books. I do not feel anything to that book for the matter. lol But "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift is cool! According to your playlist of the book, it seems that book is just too girly for me and I can't cope reading it. :/

    1. Thank you! I've always loved making playlists, so it seemed like the perfect thing for me to do!

It is a pretty girly book, but pretty powerful. I kept thinking of the Spice Girls and their whole "Girl Power" thing when I was reading it.
