The Taylor Swift Book Tag

I was tagged to do The Taylor Swift Book tag by Tika over at Fangirl Confessions, and let me tell you... I am so EXCITED to do this tag. I've literally been waiting and waiting for someone to tag me for this one because Taylor Swift has been my favorite artist since I was sixteen. I've been to all of her concerts, and I have all of her CDs plus a ton of her unreleased music. The last time I checked, I had almost 500 Taylor Swift songs on my iTunes.

Oh, and did I mention that today is Taylor's birthday? I'm celebrating in style!

"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"

A Book or Series You Were Pretty Sure You Were In Love With But Then Broke Up With

Atlantia by Ally Condie
I really enjoyed the beginning of Atlantia, but then it slowly got worse, and I ended up disliking the whole book.

"Red"

A Book With A Red Cover

The Elite by Kiera Cass

"The Best Day"

A Book That Makes You Feel Nostalgic

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
I loved this book when I was younger. I read it so much that it actually fell apart and I had to find another copy.

"I Knew You Were Trouble"

Pick A Bad Character You Couldn't Help But Love

Bellatrix Lestrange from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
I just love Bellatrix. She's one of my favorite book characters ever.

"Innocent"

A Book With An Ending That Was Ruined For You

I've been pretty lucky that I haven't had endings ruined for me.

"Everything Has Changed"

A Book With A Character That Goes Through Extensive Character Development

The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
I'm going with Katniss Everdeen for her. She changes a lot from the first page of The Hunger Games to the last page of Mockingjay.

"You Belong With Me"

Your Most Anticipated Release

The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler
I can't wait to get my hands on this baby by Ms. Ockler. Like words can't even describe how much I want it.

"Forever and Always"

Your Favorite Couple

The Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth
I absolutely love Tobias and Tris together. Not only are good matches for one another, but I love how they are able to work together when things are chaotic.

"Teardrops On My Guitar"

A Book That Made You Cry A Lot

Positively Beautiful by Wendy Mills
This book isn't out until March of 2015, but I cried like a baby. Make sure you pick this one up. You won't regret it.

"Shake It Off"

A Book You Love So Much That You Shake Off The Haters

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

"Blank Space"

Most Over-Hyped Book Or Series That Didn't Work For You

The Matched trilogy by Ally Condie
I read all three because I kept hoping I'd see what others were seeing, but these books were terrible.

"Invisible"

An Under-Hyped Book Or Series That Deserves The Spotlight

Sketchy (Bea Catcher Chronicles, #1)
The Bea Catcher Chronicles by Olivia Samms

I've only read the first book in this series, but it's great. I can't wait to read more, and I hope more people pick these up and read them.

"The Story of Us"

A Couple That Should End Up Together

To All The Boys I've Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
I really, really need to know that Margot and Josh end up together. Even though Josh and the Song Sisters are all a bit confused, I just need this to happen.

"Love Story"

A Forbidden Love in a Book or Series

Zodiac by Romina Russell

I don't want to ruin this newly released book for anyone, but it's got a Romeo and Juliet forbidden love in it. I can't wait to see how it plays out in the second book.

Okay... So I know I'm supposed to tag some people for this one... If I tag you, and you've already done it, just let me know or leave the URL to your post so I can read it!

  1. Finally someone agrees with me on We Were Liars! I thought that book was fantastic but it has such mixed reviews. I've even see where people say they think it's gimmicky and I'm like -_- really lol. I can't wait to read Zodiac, I've heard nothing but good things about it, and I know you really enjoyed it too!

    1. I didn't LOVE love We Were Liars like a lot of people, but I really liked it and thought it was fresh. Most of the people I'm friends with like it, so it makes it easier to ignore the bad reviews. lol

ZODIAC IS AMAZING! I'm waiting on my hardcover to get here as I type this. lol

  2. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids sounds amazing, and you've made me excited for the book as well. Have you ever read #Scandal by Sarah Ockler? If you haven't, I would totally recommend that as it is one of my favorite books by Sarah Ockler! I loved all your answers, and I know just how fun this tag was.

    1. I haven't read #scandal yet, but it's on my list. I just need to get a copy. My Barnes and Noble doesn't stock her books. :( I was so mad about it when I went looking for The Book of Broken Hearts.

P.S. I still have your giveaway win. I am thinking of waiting until mailing it until after Christmas because the mail has been so slow. I don't want it to get lost.

  3. Bellatrix is actually kinda awesome, I don't understand all the hate toward her. (Lie, I kinda do understand it but still!!)

Oh no, I was looking forward to Atlantia. The same happened with me for her Matched trilogy, I like the first book but I COULDN'T EVEN FINISHED CROSSED!! UGH! How did you read all three?!

I want to read Zodiac so badly!! Eek!

    Great Post! Awesome answers!

    1. I freaking love Bellatrix. She's such a freaking cool character, and I love Rowling for creating her.

For me, Atlantia started off really strong, and then it died. The whole Matched series was just bad for me. And it took a lot of determination. I basically forced myself to finish them.

  4. 500 songs? Does she have 500 songs? Hahaha, that's amazing. I am in love with her new album, by the way! If all goes well, I'm seeing her on the 21st of June in Amsterdam :)

By the way, totally agree on Bellatrix and Matched!

    1. She has a lot of acoustic and album quality demos that I have. I also have a bunch of songs that she might have played like once or twice. My collection is insane. lol

I want to see her in June, too, but the tickets are so expensive that I might have to skip unless I get some major cash together and fast. Who knows... she might already be sold out. :(

    2. Oh yeah, I know about those. I have a fair collection as well, but not in the hundreds :D

In Amsterdam, they were 44, 54, or 64 euros. So yeah, they're not cheap. But one of my best friends is a huuuuge fan of hers, and I promised her that I'd take her if my health and anxiety allow it.

    3. My concert is at a stadium, so they really jacked up the prices. I went to Red, and had actual seats, but for 1989, I'd be paying the same price (a little more) for the bleacher seats where you can't see anything. I'm really bummed about it because she's been my favorite since I was sixteen. Gosh... that seems like it was forever ago. lol

  5. Cool. Really fun post, Erin. I have seen this in the booktube world, but yours is the first written tag I've seen. Loved it. :)

    1. I knew it existed in the booktube world, but I'm not much of a booktube watcher. I feel like it takes too long, and I'd much rather read reviews. lol

It's been on a few blogs, though. I'd been waiting for someone to tag me. :)

  7. Aww, I love A Little Princess! And I agree, Condie's Matched series are terrible and I have no idea how I was able to slog through all of the three books. It looks like you have a hate relationship with Ally Condie's work...

    Great answers! :)

    1. A Little Princess is such a good book! If I ever have daughters, they are reading it. It's going to be a requirement. lol

I'm with you on that. I almost lost my mind trying to read all three Matched books. But yes... I think I'm done with Ally Condie. I just sold Atlantia to the used bookstore, and I won't be reading anything else by her.

  8. I love this post! Thanks for tagging me :)
We Were Liars looked like a hit or miss for a lot of people, and since I really enjoyed it I'm in the same boat as you. Zodiac looks amazing and I've been eagerly awaiting reading it for ages, just like To All the Boys I've Loved Before which I'm getting for Christmas. Can't wait!
I never actually finished the first book of Matched, so good on you for keeping with it, though it's a shame that you didn't like them!

    1. You're welcome, Anna! I thought you might like it! :)

Zodiac is so good! I was up chatting with the author last night about how much I love it. If you read it, you'll have to tell me what you think of it! You're getting To All the Boys I've Loved Before!? Yay! I really enjoyed that too, and it will be fresh in your mind when the sequel comes out.

Matched... what a bore. I made it an assignment to read them, but I should have just stopped.

  9. The Matched Trilogy wasn't something I wanted to pick up so I guess that saved me from reading a not so fun book. :o I'm kinda convinced to read Zodiac now since Tika has been hyping all about it too, so I guess I'll add that too my TBR jar :D

    1. I really should have just DNFed the first one, but for some reason, I kept reading. Oh well. You live and you learn, right? Just don't read them. lol

Zodiac is the shiz! I really want to re-read it before the sequel is out. Well... I kind of wanted to re-read it after I finished it.

I should make a TBR jar. I've been wanting to do it for years now, but I am just not crafy, and I like everything to be super cute.
